Since there is MORE evidence that our actual history does not go back beyond what is called the 1800’s any claim to knowledge of any “plan” older comes into question.

While they did have mass production metal was pretty expensive but there are plenty of metal objects….they had mines and consumed a lot of forests making charcoal – they didnt have blast furnaces but they did have steel in small, expensive, quantities. Iron, bronze and stuff were used, but not in masisve qunitites except for things like the Army or statues or stuff

Well… i dont know if you have been to England but most of them kinda “grew” qithout urban planning. Cities planted or extended by the Romans were often built on a plan but Rome wasnt because they just rebult it after teh gauls burnt it down .

People in the Middle ages lived in mud huts and build cathedrals. Some people still live in mud huts and cabins, that doesnt stop Bill Gates building a mansion. As to importing tons of stuff… water transport makes it easy

I listened to the short you linked (last week) about the cathedral building. The great “mathematical proof” which claimed a tiny population on planet based on a backward projection of the claimed curves of today wasn’t even pseudo science. I doubt anybody knows how many people have come and gone, nor how “educated” they were? some of the brightest wisest intelligence I’ve met has had very little “education” in the form of schools and academic ways.
The book I have of cathedral building seems reasonable to claim that they were built over 4-5-6 generations, just like St John’s in NY (still ongoing since 1892). Though chartres is claimed to have been built in 25 years, thats hard to imagine. I’ve the perspective of having mostly been a builder over the past 4 decades. the scales of work have been vastly different but the basic process is the same. the empire state building took a year and a half. 40 years later, with lots better tools and tech it took 7 years to build the twin towers then 30 years later it took 8 years to build their avatar. that pattern says we’re slowing down or less able, or maybe less focused?
I find young people (especially) have manic attention spans. clearly driven by the dumb digital device matrix teet.
As for history being completely different, I agree, the story has yet to be told. but how how?

A great majority of the hundreds of constructions world wide claim just a few years as the time period.
Just look at some of the old building in Minneapolis for instance.

Seems to be a common reply here to name some city. The point is any civilized layout with water, sewer, big heavy buildings, etc. demands engineering skill for success.
