I have a relative who shared a Chinese Balloon Meme at work and with other relatives.
Shortly after he sent out the Meme email, he sent out an apology email. He apologized to anyone whom he might have offended.
The apology email got him flagged by Human Resources at work. They called him in for a serious sitdown and a major “Harrassment Writeup”, despite this relative being a top executive.

If this balloon wasn’t an accident, then it was a nice chinese prank. They really have no need for a spy balloon when they have so many satellites. Free drifting balloon could hardly provide some intelligence they don’t have already.
Of course they had to use a missile to bring it down, radar guided missile was needed. Aircraft cannons are useless, service ceiling of F-22 is 65k feet, the balloon was much higher. Price tag $400k…why not if it is possible. Price gouging…what a funny phrase for a free market, damn, it’s not. Then capitalism…not true, again…I’ll never get this right.
