Medical doctor and anti-nuclear campaigner Helen Caldicott joins The Corbett Report to discuss her background and work opposing nuclear power from the days of the open-air nuclear weapons testing through the Three Mile Island and Chernobyl disasters through to today. We note the ways that governmental and intergovernmental organizations tried to cover up the true extent of previous nuclear disasters. We also discuss the crisis at Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant and the likely medical consequences that will result from the radiation that is leaking from the reactor cores.
