How do you stand your ground when you are confronted by would-be authorities. As too many around the world are finding out these days, not having an answer to this question could cost you your life. Today, James talks to Jason Bassler and Séamus O’Laoi about knowing and asserting your rights, as well as the real long-term solution to the problems of the police state.

Held captive for not wearing a mask in a shop: Seamus O’Laoi tells his story

I can already tell, this is my favorite Solutions Watch for 2026. So many good tips. I love this episode so much.
Me too!
Feeling inspired to set up a parallel economy in my new neighbourhood, when I move house, and avoid dependng on the State as much as possible.
Sorry to use your post/reply as atho I have logged in there is no Comment button.
I want to say about using a recording device, usually a phone, in those situations. The police will just ask for yur phone and say it is an offence not to give it – so no recording.
I agree with most of what is presented here.
You don’t have to live on a compound in Mexico, if you don’t already live in Mexico.
You can build community where you live.
There are a lot of shady people (opportunists) who are building these anarchist compounds in corners of the world because they don’t really have any other options, and they sell this utopian dream to people who have been so frightened and terrified of standing their ground where they live, escaping into a jungle community sounds like a good idea.
You can build a system of trade separate from The State in america. You can do it in Kansas. You can do it in Texas. On your own land.
I’d also advise taking a trip to Waco, and consider things, before joining a commune.
Also, don’t trade control by the State for a more micro-managed control by a charismatic figure by joining their jungle fiefdom.
Don’t give up your autonomy to some dude with shiny hair and veneers, because he’s telling you he can give you a free life if you join his compound. You might end up working for free, have no shoes, and find it really difficult to escape.
Use your discernment. If someone seems a little shady, they probably are.
There’s a bunch of people out there, that are in it for the power and the control, but present themselves like they’re just trying to build community. Like they’re just trying to help you out.
That’s marketing.
They don’t actually care about you. They want your money and they want your devotion.
They want positive press. They want to be seen as vanguards of freedom.
You literally do not need any of these people.
You can take a stand where you are.
Good advice. 🌴🌺
Building parallel societies does seem the best way forward. Here in Wales, myself and a few others have signed up to form an assembly in the Community Assemblies of the British Isles movement, a decentralised private members association that grants us rights outside of the legislative framework of the UK. I can’t give you all the legalistic details because I’m a learner myself. But from my understanding the sky is the limit. We can build an economic and educational system outside of state control and build a society that makes the existing society redundant. Am I a dreamer? Yes. But then everything good starts with a dream and vision, no?
Inspiring and practical. Thank you. I have taken note of the tips and appreciate the urge towards building local options ~ here in the Catskills we have a small local group of those who didn’t medically comply ~ we get together monthly ~ and so far have not been able to create options beyond the sense of community, which is of course the essential beginning.
There he goes again-
Séamus Ó’Laoi pretending to be my “alter-ego”. Just shows you how deranged and devious the guy is. This is appalling, despicable and preposterous.

We should all buy bulletproof vests, helmets and wear masks over our faces just like they do.
Tco
You certainly should buy quality armor and maybe a helmet…..on the hand if you strap a side arm on for show and start fighting with cops strapping on your Rambo gear won’t save you because they can always pepper spray you and the. give you a noodle in the back of the head while they hold you down because you have them legal cause.
So unless your planning to get killed in a gun fight what is the reason for playing dress up?
Those stupid people who got shot by half trained ICE guys really thought they were living in a marvel movie and all they had to do was get the right moment on camera to feed social media…..unless your about to be murdered or taken off to a death camp (or maybe if your looking at 20 or thirty years) physical fighting with cops is for retards and social media posers.
You mention mutual aid organization and I can’t help but think of freemasonry in that regard.
Freemasonry is a mutual aid organization, where members swear to help each other when someone is in distress. It appears to have historically been a place where those deemed heretical or are hunted by the nationstate have a space to survive and to thrive. While some may have used the organization for their own ambitions, it is an organization with strong humanist values. While the one church and those pushing a capital T Truth have demonized the organization quite literally, it is a place for free minds, free expression, free travel, and all manner of human liberty with respect to justice.
And now to submit this comment to the pack of wolves that is the comment gallery. What could possibly go wrong?
Joshua
The Freemasonic humanist ideas created the world we live in today…..it’s kinda partially their fault we have trans humanism, would be technocrats, social breakdown and sexual perversion all over the place. Praising them is like praising the 60s generation for making such a wonderful world for us to live in.
The masons were often a tool of the British, EM Jones may be a bit extreme when he calls the enlightenment and the Frenevh revolution a British black opp to disrupt tjeir rivals…..but he’s not far off.
Interestingly The UK Establishment was full of Freemasons back in the old days – who did indeed use it as a mutual aid society to rule over the plebs. When too many of the Establishment drones were Freemasons the really cool kids had to go form magical societies. See “secret agent 666” by prof. Spence (his podcast “strange as it seems “ is online or on the Youtubes and also worth a watch)
Oh, and since the masons dont tell newbies the actual ideas of what their about tjeir kinda always rife for using good folks to do bad stuff
While freemasonry may have been used in nefarious ways in the past, it is unclear what ways it may currently be used nefariously. What bad stuff are freemasons using good folks to do?
How is it “their fault we have trans humanism, would be technocrats, social breakdown and sexual perversion all over the place?” Every freemason, or specific persons, and who specifically? Why only “kinda partially?”
Is EM Jones claiming freemasonry has been used as a tool of the british to disrupt french society and government? Does this apply to only history or to current times as well, and if so then how?
How did “UK Establishment” use freemasonry “to rule over the plebs?”
If freemasonry is a tool, can it be used for good mutual aid between individuals, or is it only to result in bad actions by all members?
Joshua
“… it is unclear what ways it may currently be used nefariously…”
Pretty much the same ways it was used in the past- a secret society can do lots of bad stuff from murder (the mafia) to corruption and those on the square not getting prosecuted for crimes (frim child abuse to drink driving) when fellow masons are in the police….THAT was a big scandal in the uk in the 80s.
The OPEN (whi knows what the secret ones are?? After all their secret…) ideals of the Enlightenment masons claim have as an end point tyranny and transhumanism and social chaos (arrriving fast or slow in France vs the US revolutions) because they are bad ideas. But thats beyond masonry
As to how the British used it to rule the plebs see “secret agent666” , early chapters. Also see the UK scandals with the police masons doing naughty things back in the day.
I am not even against secret societies but ones , like the masons, that HIDE what they actually think are even worse then openly criminal secret socialize the mafia because the poor slob getting sucked into masonry doesn’t even know what he’s getting into.
Yes EM jones said tjat, based on others work (he has sources and footnotes) and since masonry keeps its doctrines secret even from lower level members it’s not really redeemable.
Just start a new secret society where you know what god or gods your following from the start
“a secret society can do lots of bad stuff”
Ok but do they? I’m aware of scandals such as protecting a child abuser in the UK, but murder? Criminal? Mafia? I’m curious what evidence there is for these claims of systemic corruption.
The book you reference does not make any claims of criminal activities in freemasonry and simply mentions it as an intersection of crowley and intelligence activities related to other groups specifically.
“ideals of the Enlightenment masons claim have as an end point tyranny and transhumanism and social chaos (arrriving fast or slow in France vs the US revolutions) because they are bad ideas”
You admit this is beyond masonry, but I am still curious why you’d say this about enlightenment ideas or if those ideas are from masons specifically. Who? What ideas? How do they have such end points?
What god or gods are you claiming masons are following?
Joshua
Well, I don’t know if u have read up on the Calvi murder in the UK but anything about the P2 Lodge should fill you in on the murder/ bad stuff side.
You could also read “the brotherhood” or the same author (forgot his name) in the UK police couruptuon via masonry.
As for the enlightenment ideas being bad you can read or listen ti Auron Mackintyres “total state” work for more in tjat- basically the idea of total human freedom from un chosen bonds is against nature. Only the current level of material wealth allows such ideas ti exist in normal folks and these ideas always bring about poverty thru loss of social capital and cohesion and thus we return to normalcy.
As to the gods of masonry perhaps you should inquire from Albert Pike?
He did say that Lucifer was their god, after all, and such an illustrious fellow ougjt to know his stuff. His book is ment to be burned in the death of the mason who owned it but you can still get copies since tjat doesn’t always happen.
The illuminism that infiltrated lodges is just a more extreme version of enlightenment thinking and we must always recall tjat democracy leads to tyranny every time.
Sure if u want to worship the devil and take over the world masonry kinda works….but the revolution always eats its children and masons are kinda old hat these days anyway. Why join a society that keeps its actual goals a secret? I mean, do u want to serve others aims until you get important enough to know what thise aims are?? lol, just join the mafia, they don’t hide their aims and you can just choose team evil right off the bat
Also it’s creepy as fk to do rituals with skeletons…. Necrophilia is gross and prancing about in an apron is gay as hell
You haven’t responded to my observation that Spence’s book does not include mention of the claims you’ve made. I listened to a couple episodes of his podcast Strange As It Seems and he very clearly stated he is not proving anything but simply showing things are strange. He gives a winding trail of what may be facts, or may be contrived stories, and comments on them. I don’t see any solid evidence of anything in his work so far.
I looked into the Calvi murder and the P2 lodge, and that all seems shady, but the P2 lodge had its charter revoked in the 1970s so it is clear they do not represent masonry.
Albert Pike did use the word Lucifer but he did not say “Lucifer was their god.” He said the following and it has been apparently taken out of context.
“The Apocalypse is, to those who receive the nineteenth Degree, the Apotheosis of that Sublime Faith which aspires to God alone, and despises all the pomps and works of Lucifer. LUCIFER, the Light-bearer! Strange and mysterious name to give to the Spirit of Darkness! Lucifer, the Son of the Morning! Is it he who bears the Light, and with its splendors intolerable blinds feeble, sensual, or selfish Souls? Doubt it not! for traditions are full of Divine Revelations and Inspirations: and Inspiration is not of one Age nor of one Creed. Plato and Philo, also, were inspired.” -Morals And Dogma
If masonry has goals it keeps secret from everyone including those closest to it, then how do you know them? What are they exactly and how do you know?
Do freemasons actually do rituals with skeletons? I’m unsure if that is accurate.
I don’t know who is prancing, but calling people “gay” is rude and unfair. Do you just mean happy, or do you mean homosexual? It seems you may be repeating centuries old propaganda used against templars and masons to discredit them.
Aside from a few real scandals, some of which are clearly not caused by masons, it seems nothing you are saying has any merit. Your take on masonry is as bigoted as any racism. It is illogical to take what may be true of some individuals and apply it to all within that category. That’s bigotry by definition.
Masonry is a decentralized network of individuals working together to improve themselves and their communities. It aligns with voluntaryism and agorist principles and should be considered as an honorable and worthy pursuit.
Joshua
“…You haven’t responded to my observation that Spence’s book does not include mention of the claims you’ve made. …”
You have clearly not read Secret Agent 666 because if you had you would know the part where Prof Spence talks about the way Masonry (and later Magical societies) were used by the ruling class and their go-fers.
Dude, I never claimed to know what Masonry’s goal was … thats kinda the point NO ONE outside the ruling clique knows do they? A Mason signs themselves up to serve unknown goals and unknown masters….. hey, if that suits you go for it.
Like wise, if playing dress up and using human bones for gay rituals sounds like a laugh to you go right ahead.
And as to prancing about with Skeletons like a bunch of necrophile creeps…. you DONT think that sounds ‘gay’ (as in homo, faggey, gross) ???? Does using human remains for rituals sound like a “happy” gay time?
I mean, dressing up in aprons when your not gonna bake a cake is kinda funny dont you think? And those adorable little bells? hahahaha, funny as fk.
Lol, the Masons are not even particularly powerful anymore since their functions have been passed off to other groups.
As to being decentralized….. meh. not so sure about that. Perhaps when you become more important they will tell you about the hidden masters? 😉
But that aside masonry is not even particularly powerful anymore – pedo’s now need to be in with Intel to avoid punishment and I bet you cant even get out of speeding ticket with the funny handshake anymore
I would just suggest people start their own without all the funny costumes. The KKK was derived from masonry and made even sillier outfits, but they were at least kinda cool
Here’s an interesting read about how to gradually opt out of state controlled money: T. Michael Cox wrote “Money for a Threefold Society” describing a path toward creating a community based economic and monetary system. Ideas like these are springing all over the place. Nothing like a bit of pressure and abuse to trigger people’s creativity and awaken our genius!
Here’s a tip- if you are a commie lesbian poet, don’t get killed protecting third-wold Somalian scammers who would like to throw you off a building for your sexual orientation. Liberty is a Western concept and those who are opposed to it need to be excluded. Obviously, ICE should be abolished and private bounty hunters should be used for mass deportations, but no one is even suggesting that.
The aspect that never gets talked about enough is the incredible entitlement of the illegal immigrants who come here and drain the welfare money that is stolen from the taxpayers and then are **shocked and offended** when they get deported. It is truly snobbish behavior of the highest order. Being a sovereign individual dos not mean you can travel wherever you want.
Also Renee Goode and Alex Peretti were not protesting, they were obstructing law enforcement, two entirely different things.
Ancap
True, but
I think trying to drive over a cop goes a bit beyond obstruction…..and getting into a fight with cops while carrying a gun is beyond stupid. No sense for those two gooners to get themselves killed when they probably would have walked at most a day after arrest anyway.
From what I hear the anti-ice people have zero issue stopping and ID’ing folks to check their not ICE too, so it’s not like the actually care about free movement
But the real issue is whi is funding the nation wide network funding the protests.
From watching the video I think it is likely she was trying to run over the ICE guy (not just drive away), but either way yes it is incredibly stupid. Alex Paretti had gotten his rib broken protesting days before he was killed, so he was clearly mentally deranged. An interesting point about ID’ing people to ensure they are not ICE, that is truly hypocritical.
I hadn’t looked too much into the funding myself, but I think it is likely some Soros-connecected NGOs are funding these protests and the groups behind them.
its said an ideal community size is between 100 and 150 people. This is based on efficiency measures of infrastructure, food production, and maybe even keeping the “gene pool” healthy.
Ducking the current compliance rakes that comb to clear the courageous few is getting harder, and one wonders if, in this kalijuga moment, heroic gestures are worth the candle? someone said: “keep trying! dont give up! think of the glory of the underdogs who are always vindicated?” or is it always shot?
A system of humans coalescing as a group with shared-goal efforts, can be the best and worst. After 63yrs amongst it, I’d venture that life’s a crap shoot, a tricky run through a mogul field strewn with rocky ice patches, or ride the wave and try not to stack.
as for complying with the current state of policing, anywhere, it looks like theres mostly good examples and a few egregious ones (trigger happy armies are another story). Police live daily cozied right up to death. Being understanding when face to face should calm even the bad ones. trying to alpha someone heavily armed & potentially brainwashed beyond measure, is just dumb.
I reckon, that aiming for relationships wherein there is a shared goal, to build a home together, or a garden, or a harmonic riff, all situations where the goals are mutual can be the guiding force. rather than “bullshit is the glue that binds us as a nation” G.C., it can become the synergy of collectively gunning for beauty is a win win. All depends on the quality of our decisions. a without-question mind is the bullseye, but to hit that one must decide.
The compulsion to compete is supported/represented by sport
The compulsion to dominate can be eclipsed with options for generous redistribution of mod-con stuff, opportunities for selfless service, and push-ups with the occasional spear through the leg.
Maybe answering the question of how best to support most people’s maximum chances of thriving is the very homosapien sapien raison d’etre? with respect to the few stunning examples, we’re not there yet.
My vote is for attempting to answer the question “where is home”? For some it is at the spring headwaters of whatever water flow they were born near. For others it is a hundred room mansion or a box in the favela. one texan named his home after his girl while the other didnt have a particular name though most called it “down town Dallas”. The diaspora of our era has clearly muddied the waters of cultural signatures and lore. Languages, the cornerstone influencer of all culture, are on the decline, but it also has me musing that maybe “home” is more in the heart/mind than we admit. sovereignty, gives a sense of home. If anyone finds some let us know. Perhaps its related to the unconditional flow of individual free will, “when it has also satisfied the scrutiny of truth beauty health happiness and light” (O.K.) perhaps when that kind of free will is at play, then we are “home”.
James – a parallel story in print from Canada is on page 3 of the June 2022 Druthers newspaper (a monthly print newspaper) by Currie Soulliere titleled “Detained and assaulted for seeking treatment massless”. It is an unsettling read (I had fled Canada just two months before this edition came out).

The author sought medical help maskless and had the police called on her and was then assaulted by them.

For those in Canada that want to know what you are up against if you refuse to comply with government edicts and put yourself in between statists and profits, I put together this Exposé video highlighting the rise of the totalitarian (fascist) Canadian Police State
https://gavinmounsey.substack.com/p/exposing-the-canadian-police-state
The video explores the specialized militarized RCMP units, outlining how their playbook is designed by a man trained by the former CIA head (David Petraeus) and their tactics are reminiscent of his counter-insurgency strategies in the middle east.
Here In Canada our version of ICE (the “C-IRG” now re-branded as “CRU”) often uses cell phone jamming tech on people the second anyone tries to film them. I have seen them do this in real time on multiple instances when they set up illegal “exclusion zones” to keep journalists out while they brutally assault peaceful land defenders (like they did at Fairy Creek and in Walbran valley on Vancouver Island). I have seen them jam cell phone and internet devices of journalist and protestors, once the devices cannot stream they will take your phone and smash it while no one can record them. Once the live feeds are down I have seen them engage in overtly psychotic behavior like eye gouging protestors, masing them point blank in the mouth, ears, eyes and tasering handcuffed people.
Some of the tactics mentioned above in the video are helpful, but always keep in mind that “knowing your rights” only matters if the armed thugs you are facing feel obliged to play by the rules. If they can use cell phone jammers or snatch your phone, in many cases I have seen RCMP in Canada completely ignore legal procedures and charter of rights violations, so be aware you may be facing off with a viscous thug that will change their behavior drastically as soon as they feel they are not being filmed.
Not many Canadians know about these fascist goons because their strategy of putting on a fake smiley face in public, then cutting off journalistic access to their raids and activating illegal cell phone jamming tech so protestors cannot record them is highly effective.
I especially appreciate James’ highlighting “Exit and Build” (creating parallel systems and counter-cultures) strategies for avoiding and boycotting systems that fund statist goons all together.
The parts of the Solutions Watch that focus on Agorism (boycotting statist regimes and corporations through cultivating food/health sovereignty and Derrick Broze ‘s “Exit and Build” strategy are things I do wholeheartedly endorse.
For more on creating emergent counter-cultures (aka engaging in “Active ethnogenesis”) and planting the seeds for parallel societies, read the article linked below:

Informing and Educating Others – Pandemic Era
Any type of protest or demonstration or event is an attempt to deliver a message (disseminating an idea) to the general public.
I agree that it is wise to avoid precarious situations.
I also think that it is important for aware people such as Corbett Report Members to inform and educate others.
During the entire Pandemic, I never wore a mask inside any retail establishment. Often in a big-box store, I would be the only person out of over a hundred customers who was not wearing a mask. I wanted to set an example.
There were times when an employee told me that I must wear a mask. “Get the store manager. He will tell you that I don’t have to wear a mask,” was my common reply. (Managers are hard to find, and often are in their office.) I never had a manager confront me.
During the Pandemic, I made a strong effort to educate others.
I ran an online header ad in the local papers which promoted Corbett’s timely documentary ”Who is Bill Gates?”
HEADER AD – https://web.archive.org/web/20220510223723/https:/secure.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/d/6/a/1/highres_491574945.jpeg
(There were also block rectangle ads which rotated to all the chain’s newspapers.)
I posted countless signs all around.
I put out well over 2,000 flyers on car windshields in parking lots.
FLYER ON WINDSHIELD – Photo – https://secure.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/e/0/9/c/highres_492417500.jpeg
When putting out flyers in parking lots, I did it the smart way. I would not spend more than 10 minutes in a parking lot. Often less than 5 minutes. This helped me to avoid confrontations.
And there were times when a manager or employee told me to stop. A few employees who had caught me got visibly upset – almost rabid that I would challenge the mainstream narrative.
I was never bothered by law enforcement. However, I was disappointed in the lack of spine by many and also the general absence of awareness by most.
I was considering getting a sticker printer and getting those suckers all over the place, but I found myself dissuaded by the fact I live in a sparsely populated area. It feels much easier to drop these little bomba in other peoples area. A poor excuse.
Well done, Home Remedy.
It use to be my passion to inform and educate the public, I had faith in them then. Prior to the invasion of Iraq, at my wits end to warn, I painted a white King size sheet with the slogan, Invade Iraq? NO! and hung from my second story porch on a busy highway. (Besides stapling flyers I had made to telephone poles.) my elderly father was so afraid I would come to harm as public opinion was solidly behind Bush1. Anyway, that was decades ago and there is no unified platform in towns or counties (newspapers, town hall meetings etc)with which to build a local voter coalition and expand. 🤷🏻♀️
I view this now as a spiritual warfare and seek to sharpen the weapons of our warfare which are not carnal, for the tearing down of strongholds. God help us.

This is an essay by Paul Kingsnorth, he may have once been a guest on the Corbett Report. Great stuff but I post it for the exchange about freemasonry with Joshu-Ray.
There are people hired or otherwise who are sent to waste our time fighting with phantoms. The time has come to let “he that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be unrighteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.” Revelation 22:11.
I will engage maybe once or twice with a commenter on various boards, but since the advent of Chatgp and hordes of bots, my engagment is minimal or not at all. I limit my true engagement to people I already know online or people I can touch and see, and kiss in reality.

I took a client, who refused to pay me for a weeks work, to court. I had no idea about court other than thinking “I’m so in the right how could I lose?”. I had a month to burn so began watching videos about how to go to court with success. If I hadn’t watched, read, and asked, I would of been seriously disappointed, likely delayed and possibly lost. By far the best advice I was given was from the local court clerk: “Its all done with paper, mate”. and so I gathered the texts and emails and statement’s and photos and put it in a book.
when the lady’s attorney saw the book I was about to hand the judge full of affidavit, stat dec’s, and notorized documents,, he went into panic mode, 5 mins earlier he had been waffling about how I was gonna pay him 2x what the lady owed me. I remained silent. just then the courtroom doors opened and and I pulled my ace out in the open. we began filing into court. Because he was a lawyer he had to hurry because he would see the judge first. in about 3mins, he had gotten the lady to transfer the$2k to me. The judge and attourney exchanged some pig latin, and then the judge asked, “youve already got a default judgement, are you sure you want to drop the charges?” I hadnt said so, but I guess that what the piglatin was about. I threw out the case, and thankfully walked away.
thats why the need to record.
but seeing all police as “jackbooted thugs” is a mistake. I reckon rather go to the weekend picnics and get to know your local police. they have a job ranging from exhaustively mundane to extra on the edge of life and death. I’m impressed by the parades of protesters. Its like voting for real, but I doubt the parades even in there biggest, are the biggest influencers as to political change.
Interesting. I learn a lot from these type of anecdotes. Thanks Vadoum.
