It’s often said that we’re playing checkers while the powers-that-shouldn’t-be are playing chess.
I disagree. I think the average delusional statist is reading comic books while the oligarchs who rule over them are writing scholarly treatises detailing their plans to take over the world.
So, let me speak today in a way Joe Sixpack and Jane Soccermom will be able to understand:
Take that, libtards!
Cry harder, wokesters!
Pound sand, deep staters!
That’s right, in case you haven’t heard, there’s a NEW game in town! Out with the old guard of censors and thugs and banksters and Big Tech(nocrat) oligarchs and in with the glorious NEW guard of . . .
. . . hold on, let me check my notes . . .
. . . in with the NEW guard of censors and thugs and banksters and Big Tech(nocrat) oligarchs!
Wait, what?! I was assured by the MAGA-cheering, Q Anonsense 2.0-pushing, hopium-swilling voters out there that since Americans VOTED HARDER!™®© in the recent (s)election sideshow circus, all our problems would be solved and the world would be holding hands and singing kumbaya and dancing on the graves of the Democrats. Or something like that.
But instead we get Big Tech oligarchs mainlining our data direct from the government trough, BlackRock cutting deals to expand its power and influence even further and a whole new breed of military-industrial critters making billions off of new AI-powered tools of warfare.
What’s going on here? Let’s find out.
James, great work today, very ambitious.
I’ve said here before that for me there are just too many players, names, events, initials, etc. to remember or keep abreast on. It really is pretty basic isn’t it though?
Lots of bad guys and gals pushing agendas of dominance and control and not much in the way of solutions to stop it all while hanging on the web and writing “stern letters and comments” that fly away to some land of “nice try boys.”
Let’s go back to the days this song was used as a bumper on your old radio show….
IT STARTS WITH YOU AND ME
https://old.bitchute.com/video/uPPBh6BmFaxQ/
“ESG is dead. Love live ESG”
Me thinks that should be:
“ESG is dead. Long live ESG”
Is that kind of like what Microsoft will be doing come May 5, 2025 with Skype?
Terminating decades old Skype service and rebranding it with Microsoft Teams.
“Skype is dead. Long live Skype.”
A pig in lipstick is still a …
Right you are. Thanks for the catch. Corrected.
Love the humour James. The only way to deal with this depressing s-show and the lack of awareness by the majority is by ridiculing the hell out of it and you do it in great style. Two tiny points: 1) With the lack of action in Gaza and Ukraine the peacemaker is helping the US death corps by bombing Yemen with more “HELL” being promised; no point in having all those weapons if they don’t get used on a regular basis. 2) – I found a typo: link to Financial Times article reads: ESG is dead. Love live ESG – I quite like that alternative but I think it should read ESG is dead. Long live ESG.
Right you are. Thanks for the catch. Corrected.
You simmer all the ingredients into a delicious and nutritious stew that clears the mind and strengthens the body for whatever comes next. At first I could only take a few teaspoons, now I want to scrape the bowl for every last drop.
Your work is much appreciated.
@Maenad
Well said!
And you actually just made me even more excited to make my pre-colonial Gaelic “Irish” stew tomorrow for my anti-St.Patricks day celebration! 🙂
I tried to chuck a few bucks at Derek Eyeden, but his payment processor isn’t working. I found it strange there were no donations on gogetfunding, maybe they are getting the ghosting treatment.
At any rate, that’s one fine track.
Kartelian creations are also rather good, even though the style is not exactly my cup of tea. But still good.
Hi Mkey,
This is Derek Eyden here 🙂 Thank you so much for checking out the music and attempting to contribute.
Could you possibly let me know which platform wasn’t working? I’ve just made a donation to myself on gogetfunding and bought the single on Bandcamp and they both worked?
The song and video were only released this past Friday, the 14th of March, so I’m still trying to attract listeners and potential contributors. Not my strongest talent hahaha
Thanks, again.
Hello, I was referring to the gogetfunding campaign for recording the next video. I tried both paypal and the credit card option (which is again processed through paypal) and I was getting an error when logging into paypal. Maybe something temporary, I’ll give it another go tomorrow.
Hi Mkey,
I was just wondering whether you had had a chance to try out the gogetfunding page again?
One of the best essays I’ve ever read. Funny, cutting, factual. I will keep it on speed dial, or whatever is the digital equivalent, for those who thought–just this once–the comic book ending was true. Hilarious and heartbreaking.
@terez
Hilarious and heartbreaking indeed..
Well, you may wonder why the response is not so strong. I see it like a echo in a canyon. Comes back about 25% as strong as it went out.
The subject is not a self promoting or uplifting as a hot air balloon . If only you could do something to juice it up. What? Besides all those tricks of the language magic and structure you do to carry it this far. Wait a minute, you ponder ? Let me suggest something that happened to me. Maybe it will help ?
I was reading Reportage: The Strange Life of Maurice Strong. It was messing with my thinking. I was envisioning these globalist types and how they don’t ask, just take ; and our forefathers and the people being forced to disregard the turncoat, treachery of their representatives. When standing armies git board or the globalist managing them turn them loose on the homeland to enforce their totalitarian will on freedom loving people. When do the people form militias?. When are they compelled to organize a response? Well, it should be before the horse has left the barn. Well before. I’m no shouldier and was never trained in the art of war, which puts me in 95 % of the populace. The sheeple. Where are these thoughts coming from? I’m thinking of becoming a wolf , as to counter taking it in the sheep where the sun don’t shine.
Then , the going on into the darkness of the next chapter. The one that aligned with this most recent editorial. Reportage; The Real Meaning of “Independence”
The dark days of freedom loving people, Louis Riel, Wat Tyler, and of course Spartacus. Emotional stuff, I was needing some Help! Emotionally, unlike you James our childhood programing was JFK, Peace Corps, Red Cross , fair trade, clean water, sportsmanship and anti- Nazi , anti- Commie, Northern anti- slavery patriotism, USA apple pie behaviour. Presidents Birthdays, and diving under your desk and covering your head drills.
And along comes Spartacus. The dark clouds are gethering. Then out of the blue like a bolt of lighting come the soundtrack . Thomas Tallis’; Themes. It washed over the words on the page, over the confusing emotional barbwire your essay was laying out. The smoke of that battlefield confusion began to clear. I felt the pain of Spartacus, the betrail of Wat Riel and the anguish of Louis Riel. The music fell into synchronicity with the visual image portrayed on the page. The fear, talked about by that lawyer from Laredo investigating JFKs assassination went away.
Sound track ! And it could be just our training, our forming. Add a soundtrack , somehow, and we all will be Helped through this feeling down feeling. It could be that simple. Obviously it is; why would you have included it in the footnotes? Why would it have had such an effect on me?
You are a sly one Mr. Cor`Bett.
Jacob Hornberger was the Lawyer from Laredo, Tx.

Correction above.
P.S. Wat Tyler , not Wat Riel.
On the singularity having happened
“…. AI is now coding AI, and sooner or later we will no longer know where human-generated code stops and AI-generated code begins. ….”
Code is already virtually incomprehensible in the sense that LOTS of software s basically stitched together blocks that the person slapping those parts does not actually understand.
That is why Operating systems and software are NOT ANY FASTER then they were in win 98 days even though they are running in machines that are almost supercomputers compared to your old beige box.
I can run two or three win 98 virtual machines on my laptop….and they all run faster then win 10 did on the bare metal. They actually run faster then Linux does on bare metal….. and anyone who is olde will see that they can’t do much (most people don’t do ANYTHING) that their beige box didn’t in 2000, 2010 at the latest.
The issue with incomprehensible code slapped together by AI is the same if AI is artificial intelligence or An Indian…its inefficient and can fail unpredictabley
“…….Given the natural advantage that GPUs have over our clunky brains, we can safely surmise that, over time, the proportion of AI-generated code will asymptotically reach for everything, while the ratio of human-generated code slides into exponential decay. This has probably already started…..”
GPUs don’t have an advantage over our brains except for a very few things.
The AI hype bubble is IMO a the next .com bubble. Something will be left but most of it does not appear to be even as useful as Pets.com was.
AI will mostly replace people who do BS jobs and the REAL threat is that it makes people as stupid as it is.
The REAL singularity is dumbed down people being turned into robots who drive their cars into the ocean because the GPS told them to
What do think about the whole quantum computing thing? Do you think this is hype too?
With the warning that I am NOT an expert in this stuff I’d say it’s probably very over hyped.
As far as I can see it’s not super useful at this point in time… as I understand it they are super expensive and not very much better IN PRACTICE then regular computers.
We are running up against diminishing returns in tech, and a less capable workforce (An Indian is cheepest but generally will slap stuff together and not care about how it actually works. They also will lie to please their bosses) so I think we’ll see a retrograde motion in tech very soon.
I think the AI bubble is just another push to make it look like the next BIG THING is just a ways down the road, when I think we’re hitting a downslope TBH. Without endless money google and their ilk will have to cut off a lot of their non profitable services which is MOST aid whatbthey do…..Even with all the fat cutting at twitter I really doubt it makes much / any money. I would bet money that YouTube and sites like it will no longer be free in a decade.
You should probably listen to Ed Zitron’s podcast for more on the “Rot economy” even though he is a nasty hipster.
I’ve heard similar things from people who thinks quantum computing is hyped and the material science part is a limiting factor. But this stuff is way outside of my domain of knowledge. I never took computer programming in college (probably should have) back in the day. But that stuff is way outdated now anyway since I was in college decades ago, so my knowledge of computers and technology is sadly lacking.
Pretty sure life saving medical training is more important 🙂 so don’t be too sad.
I should probably stop being lazy to learn stuff I find tedious. It might be like knowing how to change a tire (people should know how to do this), that I would hate to have to do, but if I needed to could do it.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge here.
YouTube is full of how to videos- I fixed the fridge by putting a new capacitor in it and was going to throw it out before I knew that was the problem
Start with the air intake to your engine- lol. You will be amazed if you’ve not done it before how much better the gas mileage gets.
When I changed someone’s air filter on their car I pulled out a small bushes worth of leaves because they did not know air filters existed.

Uh, uh! I didn’t say Psy Ents says!
“I saw what you did there!” Had to be the one… That being said, when are you planning on restocking items in your shop? I’ve had my eye on one of those Corbett Report stickers for some time now!
I was wondering about where the meme picture of Batman slapping Robin came from- and this page says it comes from a series where Batman is tricked into thinking Superman killed his dad and dedicated his life to taking down the wrong enemy
https://screenrant.com/batman-slaps-robin-meme-comic/
Fantastic stuff James.
Gonna be quoting this one for quite some time to come I am sure.
Thanks for all the hard work.
I saw what you did there!
you see! there’s more than just one….
I saw what you did there!
so did I! :
I saw what you did there!
The illusion of systemwide reform under Trump was always more of a coping mechanism than a strategy. The average citizen has as much control over the system as a bug on a windshield—so you can’t fault people for hoping their vote might delay oblivion. The shitshow is layers deep, and one round of glazed-eyed evangelicals and beltway grifters aren’t going to chip away the entire ossified crust of DC corruption.
Remember; America isn’t a democracy. It isn’t a constitutional republic. It’s a fully mature oligarchy with a rotating cast of puppets, all performing the same tragic farce. Trump’s run at the desk had just enough rogue energy to make some think the trajectory of our benevolent overlords might be nudged into something slightly less apocalyptic. The “you don’t shit where you eat” logic. There’s some heft to it.
The big money clearly moved to preparing for Trump by 3rd quarter of `24. The deals were made, and the transitions were planned. Getting ahead of the social pendulum happened in a snap. That’s how it works.
It doesn’t mean we aren’t aimed at plummeting toward a full-spectrum technocratic gulag. But the unceasing wave of gratuitous cultural revolution psyops ran its course. It went too far. And let’s be honest: the alternative was an unbroken reign of backroom technocrats and their cadre of Epstein’s alumni, where we all get front-row seats to the world’s first AI-managed, DEI-approved, ESG-compliant nuclear holocaust.
So, yeah. Hell of a consolation prize. But don’t get too down. Oligarchies aren’t forever as long as you know you’re fighting one.
Dan, your writing is very impressive. The points also align with my perception of our situation, and I think James’, as well.
However, “Oligarchies aren’t forever as long as you know you’re fighting one” is not so convincing. I don’t think this era of corruption will last forever, but I don’t see it going away soon. The points that you eloquently presented, in this very post, support this. A very deep change would be required, and that will take longer than the rest of my life. But I am well past middle age.
We do have an oligarchy, but we also have a technocracy, and a very sophisticated propaganda machine to deal with. However, the level of apathy and personal decadence, multiplied by a billion, is the key roadblock to our progress. This last observation seems to be at an unprecedented scale, and it is not addressed by our analyses of the (less populous) obviously evil players.
My way of dealing with these ‘red pills’ is to accept the enormity of the problem, and the time scales involved, with some philosophical detachment to quick fixes. In other words, I have changed my inner attitude, in order to stay positive after all the setbacks since 9/11. It could be described as widespread spiritual shortcoming. But that would take a whole book to define.
I love this life (and accept the death that is integral to its sustained beauty). Are we immortal, in a sense? I still am filled with happiness and awe when I encounter a beautiful young child.
Hanky, thanks for the kind words. You’re not wrong. The rot isn’t just deep—it’s foundational. It’s been institutionalized, ritualized, and baked into the cultural DNA. The system isn’t just an oligarchy. It’s an oligarchy that learned to shapeshift, adjusting its camouflage every few decades so the marks don’t notice they’re living in a high-tech feudal state.
You’re also right about time. No quick fixes. No clean break. You don’t disassemble a centuries-old machine with a few election cycles and some well-meaning tweets. It takes pressure—sustained, relentless pressure—applied at the fault lines where the structure is weakest. And right now? That’s public perception. The moment people stop believing in the inevitability of their servitude, the cracks start spreading.
The oligarchs know this. That’s why their greatest weapon isn’t force—it’s the metaphysical exhaustion they’ve engineered in the population. Keep people sedated, atomized, and spiritually vacant, and they won’t fight back. Ellul called it decades ago. Technocracy isn’t about jackboots; it’s about systems that make people forget they ever had a choice. No need for a secret police when you can algorithmically isolate and shame dissent in real time.
So, yeah, the timeline for collapse is bigger than our lifespans. But history tells us the same thing, over and over: no oligarchy survives forever. They get decadent. They lose their grip. They underestimate the sheer cosmic force of human defiance.
I get the detached perspective. You have to pick your battles or you’ll burn out. But apathy is a slow death. The goal isn’t to watch and wait. It’s to be the glitch in the machine. A single crack doesn’t bring down a dam, but enough of them?
It’s a flood.
Thanks for the feedback. I am not so detached emotionally, but I look before I leap. I don’t feel apathetic, but the eye cannot see itself.
People, caught up in the standard political circus, say that I am apathetic if I don’t campaign and vote. Likewise, I am apathetic if I don’t join the latest ‘alternative’ bandwagon. It is a tricky tightrope. We must reflect our individual life’s experiences, with a minimum of coloration and warping. That is essential to personal and societal integrity, but it is not so simple, as we easily misconstrue our own egos. And sometimes we must just say that we don’t know.
I now can smell mob mentality a mile away. It is like the formal logical fallacies, they don’t prove you are wrong, but skepticism is absolutely warranted in both cases.
The irony is that people, as strong and persuasive as James, attract free thinkers as well as people looking for shortcuts to wisdom and the ‘right’ stance on an issue.
I am glad that you replied, as it is nice to see if anyone understands me, let a lone agrees.
I looked at the links at the end. (Even the Beatles analysis).
The one that could use some explanation is called The Singularity Has Already Happened. That even had a link about “the acceleration curve is fucking vertical now.”
Dear James I would like your take on this confusing subject; perhaps an episode focused on the questions raised here.
There is a lot of hype and money going into ‘quantum computing,’ etc. (I am not thrilled, and my confirmation bias leads me to NOT trust the onslaught of vacuous ‘news’ articles, promoting it.
But there is plausible deniability, and like most of us, I am not in a position to get a clear picture of what is real, let alone good, bad, or ugly.
I would appreciate your perspective.
Good question re quantum computing. I’ve been told it’s being hyped, same with AI. A few programmers I know, one has a physics degree and says “the science” is not well understood in quantum. However, these guys aren’t PhD’s or involved with experimental technology, so it’s just their opinion.
What has DARPA been working on though? Could they have some stuff in some classified lab we know nothing about? They probably have some of the best minds working on this kind of creepy stuff.
I am not sure about the efficacy of pointing to stuff “we know nothing about.” But expressing those concerns does serve to vent some of our tensions. However, it is a also a distraction that drains our focus and attention.
As far as quantum and AI go, they are clearly being hyped. But I agree with you, it is impossible to tell what’s really going on.
But at least we know that they are being hyped. And despite so many articles about them, they are not clearly defined. This can’t be an accident; they are either being fraudulently lauded, or they don’t want to tell everyone the details. Probably some of both.
Hanley
“….This can’t be an accident; they are either being fraudulently lauded, or they don’t want to tell everyone the details. Probably some of both…..”
Definitely both, but different people are getting scammed in different ways.
The tech bros scam themselves because they really want this stuff to work.
The investment companies and stick market really want to get a return and scam themselves thinking of if all the profits – if you’re making a commission on transactions you have zero incentive to cry wolf so plenty of people who know better keep quiet
The oligarchs scam themselves thinking about how they will live forever and be able to control everything forever.
It’s like the Louisiana company and the tulip craze and the housing crisis, lots of people grabbing what they can while they can and not wanting to think about tomorrow
I think that book about the Theranos woman and her blood test scam (“bad blood” iirc) is a picture of the pattern.
On the one hand you have a person who thinks they can make a thing and fudges a bit to cover the short comings but then it snowballs because there is a LOT of money coming in because of the hype…. So uou just keep fudging and hoping for the best. The more you fudge the more you need to fudge until the whole thing blows up like Bernie maydolfs pyramid scheme.
The book made the point that her Steve Jobs impression was deliberately done because she was following a Silicon Valley model- what’s he did was pretty normal for Silicon Valley tech start up’s.
Tech has a LONG history of vapor ware, some of it led to something cool eventually but most was BS.
Jason Scott of the internet archive did a talk about the literal lies tech companies used to sell stuff but I can’t find it off hand. He is a pretty interesting guy, lol
Glad you mentioned Theranos and that blood testing scam. I think some of this stuff will be similar to that. She got away with it for years too.
It was rather comical to watch that fiasco and her Steve Jobs sweater and fake deep voice. I watched a documentary on it. She was a total con artist. Elizabeth Holms, that’s her name (I think).
Cu.h.j
lol her voice, yes, it’s funny how people put on a persona for a particular situation….. the deep voice for sales but when it’s time for court she sounded quite girly and wore a dress. I saw the same thing with that crazy cop in Dallas, iirc, who shot a dude in the apartment under hers (after accidentally thinking it was her place….. so she said) and in court she was talking in a little girl voice which I am pretty sure she didn’t use “in the job”.
In the UKnyou can get totally different reactions from people via what accent you use – my mom used to “posh” hers up but her actual accent was rather low class.
I agree with your perspective. The myriad naive ‘foot soldiers’ of the war on truth are one of the reasons why I say we will not see satisfying progress until human consciousness evolves further (don’t hold your breath).
I think James’ work on the Crisis and Crises in Science is relevant to this topic, and very well done.
But I still think we need to dig deeper, if we want to see substantial relief from the tons of BS generally accepted . I see healing all around, so I am not overwhelmed by pessimism, but it looks like it will take quite a bit of time (and pain).
I wonder if James thinks I am selling the ‘Black Pill.’ I do think his work is very valuable, and I appreciate the care he takes to give us a quality product. I wish the motivational rewards for his work were easier to get and more abundant, but he seems to be in it for the long haul, and I am glad of that. I can only surmise that he has a deep streak of integrity, based, as they say these days.
Probably little use to point out known unknowns TBH. But I think it is good to know what “the enemy” might be working on or planning.
The drones are creepy and I’m glad to know about military applications. Now the public can perhaps buy their own anti drone drone.
But, mentioned by Duck below, check out the Therano’s debacle “Elizabeth Holms” the scam artist and company who lied and said they could do a full comprehensive blood panel on a drop of blood. Turns out they had to run a regular blood panel and they were defrauding a bunch of investors and risking public safety because of inaccurate results.
I think what we are hearing about with quantum computing and types of AI is part scam.
All of this stuff seems beyond our control. Darpa, wars, plandemics, false flags, media lies, on and on…
In the interest of staying relatively humane and uncynical, we need to feel some purpose and some hope. If we constantly focus on all these massive shadowy agendas, steeped in lies, we find ourselves in a cycle of impotent rage. Unsupported theories and predictions are a way to express ourselves, but personally, I am better off abstaining from that outlet and distraction.
The best I can do is try to make my personal life more aligned with honesty and integrity. At least that is currently possible, to a reasonable degree, here in Texas. I just am not good at believing my own, or your, Machiavellian dreams. You can say it is due to advancing age, but I am resigned to the reality of a slow evolution in humanity, that sees a single lifetime as a mere speck.

Oh well, a vote didn’t cost anything so anything we DO get will be a plus.
I, too, saw what you did there 🙂 Thanks as always James
I saw what you did there!

The bad cat on cognitive breakage

Damn, I tried to send this to a friend. He had to fact check you first before reading it. I guess someone is watching him. National Security Administration up his arse. And I am a conspiracy nut case for bringing up the idea. New Book, Up & Down.
You sent it via a social network?
Very interesting indeed. I must confess that I did catch the “hopeism” there for a while thinking that in a weird way Trump would walk the talk and really wanted to end the wars. I live in south BC and I see that our premier Mr Eby is using the tariffs scare to pass legislation B7 that will give himself the right to change any law without having to go through parliament. The good new is that the JCCF will take the challenge in court. The election will be called tomorrow by Carney. If he gets elected I am afraid that it will be it for Canada as he will continue to drag our economy down so that the population will beg the US to take them over. The merging of Canada with the US is a WEF agenda and I am now concluding that Trump is doing their bid even though he said he did not like the globalist. One geo-politique pod cast that I listen to said that the plan is to make friend with Russia, end the war quickly in Ukraine, restore the armaments then go to war with China. It is all pure insanity. I think that Trump will lose his base quickly and that the honeymoon is ending soon. We have to figure out how to put an end to their agenda.
RE: “Meta is still a metaverse-pushing, AI-manipulating creepy dystopian nightmare of a company, but Zuckerberg is sticking it to the libs, so, like . . . whatever!”
I tried to post an archived version of that BBC article about the rainforest being clearcut for that highway for COP30 (which was shared in the shownotes of NWNW #585) on the account I have for my book and the fascistbook AI algorithms honed in on it and censored it.
Check it out:
https://archive.org/details/fascistbookAlgocracy
(click on the right hand next picture arrow to see the AI notification blocking my post in realtime)
It took about 10 seconds before the AI flagged some thought crime words in my post and censored it.
I went ahead and requested a review/reassessment of their decision just for fun and it says in the small print “your case will be reviewed by our technology or a reviewer”. So it will likely just be another AI reviewing the decision of the first AI that censored me. Hilarious.
Now this is just some trivial social media thing, but imagine once co-president Musk gets his “all in one Wechat/twitter on steroids Digital ID control grid online and unleashes the AI censorship/law enforcement in that context. You`ll get fined for breaking some law via facial recognition (or perhaps posting a thought crime in a chat forum) and ask for someone to review the decision, only to have another AI assigned to the case.
Algocracy here we come.
