The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) just came out with their latest survey of opium poppy cultivation in Afghanistan, and you’ll never guess what it says. . . .
. . . Oh wait, you totally will. It turns out the Taliban’s ban on poppy cultivation has been remarkably successful!
Specifically, the UNODC is estimating the total area in Afghanistan under opium poppy cultivation to be 10,200 hectares, down 20% from last year’s total of 12,800 hectares. While the new total may still sound like a lot, it’s a mere fraction of the 232,000 hectares that were estimated to be cultivated in the year before the US military’s spectacular pullout from the country in 2021.
In other words, the Taliban have somehow or other succeeded in doing what NATO was unable to do in two decades of de facto occupation: decimate Afghanistan’s share of the global heroin trade.
So, what’s happening here? What does this tell us about the true nature of the global drug trade? And what does all this have to do with the United States’ coming (real) war on Venezuela’s (fake) fentanyl trade? Let’s find out.

No doubts why after 9/11 the first country to be invaded was Afghanistan 🇦🇫
Taking out seven countries in five years requires unprecedented amounts of money 💰 Additional sources are always welcome☝️
Thanks James.
A sickening, but excellent article.
So it is Heroin BAD but alcohol, tobacco, sugar, fast food, TV, etc. are OK? I’ve known men and women smack users who had full time jobs from sales to jazz musicians that NO ONE would even suspect. The controllers have made it clear THEY choose what we are “allowed” to do in our lives regarding inner growth and outer pleasures.
We are in a battle for consciousness which is the key to our survival our freedom. From the burning of the various libraries in our past, the domination of tribal cultures and cessation of their ceremonial practices, and even the recent 60’s use of sacred teacher plants (Psilocybin, mescaline, pure LSD, pot, etc.) that was allowing people to explore their hidden reality; or the ridicule now of the Mandela Effect and the Mud Flood truths of hidden history…
SOMETHING has been at war with us to block our species efforts at self knowledge and growth. Our species has been lied to, mislead, and kept in a limited amount growth for centuries, we have no real idea of what we are or supposed to be.
Dare I repeat yesterday’s insight…
THE FINAL GOAL
It appears to be the eradication of natural humans. Grasping that, the significance of Biological Tampering; Cultural Grooming; Celeb Worship; Tech Toys addiction; Educational Prepping for decades now in preparation to make humans accept a post human future becomes clear.
Forcing us away from things that give us strength, security, and purpose. The arts, exercise, reading, face to face conversations, less us/them conflict, good diets, etc.

Hi James and thank you for this post. I came across this news story a day or 2 ago because someone posted on substack about the opium trade in Afghanistan. I wonder if there is truth in this news story.

How can any of this be substantiated? There is a lot to speculate on . As of late I decode articles like this by using the ” opposite” approach. The last paragraph says a lot but offers very little that isn’t ‘ opposite ‘. Just for fun…
“After regaining control of the country, the Taliban banned opium production. By 2023, cultivation had plummeted by 95 percent. But the crop rebounded last year by 19 percent, the U.N. said, and shifted to the country’s northeast, away from the traditional poppy growing areas once targeted by the CIA.”
1. Plummeted by 95%— in the area controlled by the Taliban. Competition is a sin . CIA poisons the crop of the Taliban. Never touching the
northeast.
2. …rebounded last year by 19%—[ BUT] and shifted to the country’s northeast… The CIA controlled raw production site
and refining and distribution, ran by the CIA. Not to forget the industrial manufacture of morphine and all usable medical forms.
Probability of actually occuring …85%
You raised the term deep state twice in the article. I hope its increased usage can help free people from the blinding left-right paradigm. (I am NOT the one who questioned, or objected to the term).
On a related note, the J6 pipe bomber was also working for the deep state, right? Just now, I received a message from a friend telling me that the AI identification of her was debunked. The story, not including AI gait identification, was known by me for years. Of course, the personal identification of the suspect is kind of a trivial detail, compared to the proof of conspiracy to leverage that day with secret provocateurs.
This was from a right wing Trumper. The lefties obviously want to downplay the story, too.
We are bound to pay a lot for this long steep date with the deep state.
@hanky
Indeed. There were lots and lots of youtube vids and sites that talked about that WITH videos years ago but all gone since the reset.
Couple of squad cars parked near an over pass and the headquarters and “someone” walks up to them and talks to them and they drive away.
It is interesting just where HD security cameras get placed and cheap azz B&W one’s do.
>>The lefties obviously want to downplay the story, too. >>
Go to a “news” site like The Gateway Pundit and see just how many foolish people there are on the right as well hanky.
IMO There is no left or right. Just aware or asleep.
>>We are bound to pay a lot for this long steep date with the deep state.>>
Good wordsmithing 🙂
I keep harping on the negative effects of the left-right paradigm. The ‘left’ and the ‘right’ have been described as the two wings of the big bird of government; and that is a bird of prey.
Having reiterated that, I again point out how the L-R paradigm is itself, but a symptom of something deeper and bigger. It is difficult to put words to, but it has to do with human consciousness evolution that works on the scale of centuries, and will not be fixed by dealing with symptoms. For me, this boils down to knowing how to be honest, and prioritizing that. ‘Truth is better than lies.’
That is my entire dogma of faith. No temples and thick books. The only clues, that I can offer, don’t deal with walking on water or turning water to wine. The study, I refer to, is the understanding and mastery of ego. Short but not easy…
PS Steep dates, cost too much, and always portend trouble.
@hanky

Indeed. Two sheep from the same mind controlled herd 🙂
>>‘Truth is better than lies.’>>
Usually, however my experience training with a Heyoka Shaman is sometimes the Coyote or “trickster” method is necessary to help people.

Not sure what that means. Prolly something good 🙂
The trickster thing is tricky. You can easily trick yourself. That is one way of looking at the dangers of possession by the ego. This is an area that is hard to pin down precisely with words, but to start with, when we are enamored or mesmerized by our own inventions, that is an indication of deceptive ego taking control. There are times when an overly literal application of honesty can backfire. But, society wide, it is the principle that makes sense to me. It pans out better in the long run. Another nuance is this. The more powerful and elevated one’s position in society is, the greater the importance of honesty and transparency become. In my ideal world, all government actions and documents would be transparent. I am not holding my breath, awaiting that day. Nor would I advise anyone else to do so. Meanwhile, I strive to practice my religion on a personal level. That is, I cut back on the lying, even to myself, at every chance.
Thank you for reading and responding to my ramblings. Writing helps me organize my thoughts.
>>The trickster thing is tricky. You can easily trick yourself.>>
Indeed. A Native American story is about the Coyote. There was a time when nothing died and Coyote, being a clever hunter and killer appealed to Wakan Tanka to allow things to die. So Wakan Tanka agreed. When Coyote got back with the ‘good’ news to his den his son was dead.
>>That is one way of looking at the dangers of possession by the ego.>>
IMO, the “ego” is another one of those cultural lies that has been injected into our meme. Validated by strict religious nonsense of what is a “sin” or not. The term comes of course from Sigmund Freud’s dark work from a disturbed man.
Freud was an enthusiastic user and promoter of cocaine, a bisexual who was molested by his father, a defender of child molestation, and accused of molesting his daughter Anna. Yet to become a psychologist or therapist one is made to study the theories of this man.
>>This is an area that is hard to pin down precisely with words, but to start with, when we are enamored or mesmerized by our own inventions, that is an indication of deceptive ego taking control.>>
IMO accusing one in common parlance of having a ‘big ego’ is more based in jealousy then any valid medical understanding. I have a “big ego” as I am very proud of the man I have become and my accomplishments. I see my path as one that inspires and helps heal others, not with some attitude of besting another but in a spiritual, not religious way of helping the ‘tribe.’
>>The more powerful and elevated one’s position in society is, the greater the importance of honesty and transparency become.>>
Only in our capitalistic society where “the one who dies with the most toys wins” nonsense prevails. In an egalitarian society everyone is important and must be honest for it to work. A pretend medicine man can’t send a hunting party out for deer where they might die based on untrue “visions.”
>>Meanwhile, I strive to practice my religion on a personal level. That is, I cut back on the lying, even to myself, at every chance.>>
Good on you, to me it is less about religion and more about good citizenry towards the tribe. Common sense.
>>Thank you for reading and responding to my ramblings.>>
You are welcome.
>>Writing helps me organize my thoughts.>>
Same here in music, books, and comment boxes 🙂 etc.
EJ,
To avoid any further confusion, I will again state that my ‘religion’ is simply ‘truth is better than lies.’ I call it a religion, because that is my sole faith-based tenet, not really provable, but it’s the axiom that helps me figure things out. It is not really provable, as lies are often advantageous in the short term, always considering only ourselves and our favorites. But when we look at a longer time frame, as well as including the well-being of larger and larger groups, open honesty pays off.
The ego is another confusing term. I share your antipathy for Freud and the psychologists and psychiatrists that followed. However, I find it a useful word, the way I think of it. But most people have their own idea of what it means, so it generally means that I am misunderstood. As I don’t expect that I will flesh out my use of the word with an entire book, I best avoid using that term.
As far as you being proud of your ego, that doesn’t bother me as long as you are just one of us ‘little people.’ The phrase, ‘blinded by ego’ describes something all too common and real. This type of blindness causes huge problems for everybody (like war) when it describes powerful people. I am not sure how you define ego, but you said it helped you become the man you are, and you are proud of the man you are. That is understandable. The question then becomes one of the degree of attachment to your identity and accomplishments. This becomes clear when we think about our mortality and the impermanence of our deeds and possessions.
The salient point, for this forum, is that until humanity evolves into a largely intelligent and honest group, we will be spinning our wheels until these basics are rectified. That is why the problems persist past our lifetimes. That is why our efforts to clean up the world seem so ineffective. This even extends to why Solutions Watch has so little effect, despite the brilliant insights of James Corbett, etc.
I like all of the idealism and the ideas on how to improve things, but I feel it is important to remind ourselves about certain basics that are often overlooked when we get involved with the issues of the day.
Now with fentanyl everywhere. . . . THERE’S no more money in DOPE! 50 years ago a dose of Heroin cost $5 USD. Today a Fentanyl dose costs $1. In the ’90’s there were 1 million heroin addicts in Kiev. And, all the former soviet republics were flooded with H. Hmmmm By whom may I ask? Hint: have we heard of Freeway Ricky Ross ?
@jben
Seems to me the “elephant” in the room is people LIKE using Heroin and Fentanyl and it is their body, their choice to get a little lefty.
We have been propagandized and conditioned to let others validate what is right or wrong for our lives. The users full well understand the potential consequences of Fentanyl and Heroin, so IMO, just leave them alone to meet their joy or their “maker” on their terms. The Billions spent on the “War on drugs” could be used to just cheaply house the users and bury them when needed. THAT is being truly civilized.
I agree with your overall sentiment. Live and let live (and die).
Ejdoyle
“…. Seems to me the “elephant” in the room is people LIKE using Heroin and Fentanyl and it is their body, their choice to get a little lefty….”
While Im in favor of letting idiots drug themselves to death a lot of the folks who got hooked did so via doctors giving out prescription drugs like they were candies…..in the mid 2000s every time I went to see a doctor they would issue me pain killers that I didn’t ask for- I had six or more sets in the cabinet since I won’t touch that stuff except in extremis. I don’t trust doctors much, lol.
This guy wrote a while book on it which I have yet to read fully, but his interviews were interesting

>>While Im in favor of letting idiots drug themselves to death a lot of the folks who got hooked did so via doctors giving out prescription drugs like they were candies…>>
Not my point. My point is we have far too many people sticking their nose in our business which is bred out of the false narrative that others have a right to tell us or know better about how we should live on the planet.
One of the things that has happened over the decades is to de-legitimize anyone on journey’s of exploration or self pleasure as immoral, foolish, or as you put it being “idiots” which has it’s roots in religious nonsense. They kill you either physically or emotionally or mentally using guilt and fear as their weapon of mass delusion for power and control.
This yin/yang experience of being on the web has exacerbated this IMO. A cut and paste opinion behavior of Internet ‘evangelists’ creating an “Egregore” a “thought form” or “collective group mind” part of the basis for the us/them division the controllers so gladly embrace to keep us weak and un-threatening.
EJ Doyle
“….One of the things that has happened over the decades is to de-legitimize anyone on journey’s of exploration or self pleasure as immoral, foolish, or as you put it being “idiots” which has it’s roots in religious nonsense.….”
Well TBF if people, knowing what the deal is, start up doing opiate “for pleasure” then they kinda ARE “idiots”.
There are lots of things that are pleasant but bad for you, I even do some of them myself 😉 but I try not to bother other folks wiyh my pipe smoke or spill whisky on them…. Hordes of fentanyl zombies trashing up the streets and stealing crap, on the other hand ARE a social problem.
As to religious nonsense, meh, let’s not get into that beyou kniw we will just argue.
Gotcha a whole bag full of judgements hey Duck?
I don’t know if we would “just argue” rather then offer facts and ideas, but since you have said that a few times now, I guess that would be YOUR approach.
Nothing wrong with arguing, just a recent cultural change to the everyone gets a trophy mind set. Use to be fun to sit around a coffee shop and exchange ideas and even get a little heated up with others.
As you probably know…Cognitive dissonance is that the perception of contradictory information can cause mental toll or psychological stress when participating in an action that goes against one or more things… be it in actions, feelings, ideas, beliefs, values, etc…
Have a nice Thanksgiving.
Ej Doyle
“….Gotcha a whole bag full of judgements hey Duck….”
Yes, judgements are generally a good idea-good judgement keeps people alive.
How many times do folks here bewail how little judgement how public has, wishing they wouldn’t vote, or would vote in a specific way, or would refuse clot shots or would use cash not cards, ect ect…..
The reason we can’t debate religion is not fact – it’s that we have made different choices. Facts and logic are nice and all that but at the end of the day choice wins.
Have a nice thanksgiving 🙂 we had ours early for complex reasons and I’m kinda a busy duck waddling about a lot right now.
Good health for the new year 🙂
So I’m a little bit confused here. The Taliban are the good guys compared to the evil US deep state? I would have thought that James, of anarchist persuasion, would have called out any attempt to control the movement of goods and services by any uppist controller clique. Am I missing something here?
Kumro
I guess you could argue that deep state control of crime is bad because it impinges on the free market? lol
As for the Taliban, tyranny is how those kind of folks have lived since forever and they appear to like it better then getting democracy bombs and George Floyd murals, lol.
All good points from the commenters today.
Going on about the Deep State, and how its very essence is pure deception and lying, we might pause to acknowledge, again, the epitome of this scourge. Geoengineering.
