  1. 14 million? I heard that same number quoted by the Health Ranger as that being the number of COVID vax people in the USA.
    Why 14 million? Coinkydink?
I live 5 miles from Google node. They have more than 14 locomotive size generators in case the duel fuel, coal and natural gas, electric power plant ( P.S. Co.of Ok)or the 4 hydro electric generators ( GRDA-Kerr Dam) or the 2 hydro electric generators ( Pump back Station) with-in 10 miles of the Node.
Must be important to have all those back- ups.
I don’t think they could sneak a reactor in but I’m not holding my breath. The dual fuel power plant was proposed site of Black Fox Station. There was a lot of successful push back at the time against nuclear around here.

  2. In a plot-twist where, climate goals don’t matter anymore; Eric Schmidt admits climate targets are unachievable, so go all-in on AI mass power-consumption projects. I guess Nuclear was the “green” beginning of a massive push for more energy for AI to save the planet.
“Schmidt admits that these energy-hungry AI systems could make it even harder to meet climate goals. But instead of slowing down AI growth to save energy, he thinks investing in AI could be the key to solving some of our biggest environmental challenges.”

  3. Well, just another proof that AI has naught to do with intelligence. If it did, it could figure how to use less electric, or none at all. Stupid AI.
I think, being as AI means artificial information, to me it does, i personally think all this talk about electric for AI is more AI. It’s bullshit.

All that geoengineering, all those whoopie ding dong towers all over the planet that can burn down towns in hours, everything reduced to ashes, demands electricity. It’s all going into stuff that’s bad. That’s why the endless cover stories. They only speak when lying.

My guess: When ET lands and scares the willies out of those who are scared by everything, they’ll take all the electric saying only AI can figure it out.

What tires me out so much is how stupid it all is. They don’t know how to have fun, at all. No amount of tech will ever teach them how to boogie.

    • Speaking of A.I.

Is anybody old enough to remember the days when you would call a business/institution/govt. agency etc. and an actual human would answer the phone?
Of course those days are long gone.

      Welcome AI.

No I’m not talking about artificial intelligence.
      I’m talking about artificial idiocy.

It happens every day to hundreds of millions of people around the globe.
You see instead of hiring human beings to answer their phones, businesses/institutions/agencies etc. prefer to use artificial idiocy to frustrate, humiliate and demean their customers/clients/citizens.

After navigating a dozen or so prompts to push various numbers on my keypad I usually arrive at a point in time (~5 minutes later) when the artificial idiocy really starts to kick in.

I am asked to explain what it is exactly I am looking for. Of course when I do it, the artificial idiot doesn’t have a clue what it is that I want. So they finally throw their AI hands up in the air and say, “One moment while I connect you to an agent.”

Thanks for wasting five minutes of my life and revealing just how stupid you really are.

      Artificial intelligence
      Artificial idiocy
      Artificial insanity
      Artificial ignorance
      Artificial imbecility
      (take your pick)

      • Oh! I know exactly what you are talking about!
        You nailed it.

      • Beautifully stated.I saved that. Would make a great intro to a little book of “AI” stories.
I remember, so well. Now folks have to apply for jobs online. What bs. I refuse.

I add to your list: Assinine Irresponsibility. Market Man’s bottom line.

How about the 24/7 free worldwide bank numbers that land you with an “agent” in India, whose english is indecipherable to…well, english speakers.

And those side column stories about never before mentioned ancient cataclysms, which are writ by an author with no background in history, but rather a degree in “AI”. There are degrees of this idiocy.

the Revenge of The Nerds is no joke. I’ve always felt that Marvin, the Paradnoid Android, has the correct attitude

  4. No need for 23and me, if you ever got tested for covid, your dna got taken, plus it got taken at birth, as James pointed out. I guess over 90% of the western world is collected.

  5. I’m gonna bust out the popcorn for when they have all these power plants to support a single AI all to have it not work as they expect it to.

  6. In discussing the “deer antler filters”, James Corbett says:
“Okay. Yeah. Wow. I’m glad it took me a second to process that.
It sounded like WORD SALAD for a second.
Yeah. Just goes to show how up with the current lingo I am. “

“Word Salad” had me grinning. 🙂
And I had a sudden urge to get some fries at the McDonald’s drive thru. Enter through the “Meet Your Candidates” lane.

Every four years in the U.S., the lexicon growth accelerates.

  8. Dear J Corbett, please please sir, would you consider giving us a 2024 Legacy Media Dinosaur Awards, and maybe also include a couple of very conspicuous Alternative nes outlets and characters? Many in your audience (well me for sure) would have many nominations in both camps for your consideration.

  9. If I was looking for a new tech investment I would choose the PV panels that have achieved over 60% conversion. It’s up to mass production which is the hardest part, but you can’t beat zero pollution of any kind.

And for orbiting cities, the sun never sets, eliminating need of batteries. All that’s left is to build a “space elevator”, no rockets needed.

  10. Not only did those people give their “DNA” to these companies, but they payed them to take it. You can’t be had any more than that.

    • It’s always a retaliation. Media following in lockstep.

  11. I know someone who got “Ashkenazi Jew” as the highest percentage of their DNA test. Ingenious. Best way to quash anti-semitism is to tell folks they are Semites themselves…or something like that.

  12. DNA HARVESTING!!! OH, MY

I’d like to remind everyone, that the folks who tell us they are “collecting” everyone’s dna, as if it just stays static for them, ladeda, ………………….are you ready for this?
are the same folks who assured us that “witches”, your moms and sisters, you know? , “collected” men’s penises, which they kept alive and wiggling in boxes filled with oats and corn.

I may do a podcast called An Infinite Supply of Salt
    It’s sorely needed

  13. Hi!

I dunno where to write but I have one request for the UX experience of this site. I’ve recently found that it’s hard to find James’es long documentaries. Like when you type in search box “how big oil conquered”, you get earlier 2016 piece. Would be awesome if there was an menu at the top, that links directly to the long documentaries you did. So it would be one click away for normie. Or, put the slideshow of your documentaries to the top of the page.

Greets from Polak, living 80km away from Belarus border.
Thank you James for your work

    • If you scroll down to the bottom of the home page, you will find the documentaries scroll wheel.

There’s also the “New? Start here” button on the top, leading to: https://corbettreport.com/best-of-corbett/
It does not feature a documentaries sections, but this curated list is intended for the uninitiated-

  14. RE: Story #3: Americans’ Trust In Media Remains At Trend Low
[I will refrain from joking that Story 3 is available at Amazon.]

Monday October 28, 2024 – The Washington Post – By Jeff Bezos
Opinion – The hard truth: Americans don’t trust the news media
    A note from our owner.
(Jeff Bezos is the owner of The Washington Post.)
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2024/10/28/jeff-bezos-washington-post-trust/

    EXCERPTS
In the annual public surveys about trust and reputation, journalists and the media have regularly fallen near the very bottom, often just above Congress.
But in this year’s Gallup poll, we have managed to fall below Congress.
Our profession is now the least trusted of all.
Something we are doing is clearly not working.

Let me give an analogy. Voting machines must meet two requirements. They must count the vote accurately, and people must believe they count the vote accurately. The second requirement is distinct from and just as important as the first.

    Likewise with newspapers.
We must be accurate, and we must be believed to be accurate.
It’s a bitter pill to swallow, but we are failing on the second requirement.
Most people believe the media is biased.
Anyone who doesn’t see this is paying scant attention to reality, and those who fight reality lose. Reality is an undefeated champion. It would be easy to blame others for our long and continuing fall in credibility (and, therefore, decline in impact), but a victim mentality will not help. Complaining is not a strategy.
We must work harder to control what we can control to increase our credibility.

Presidential endorsements do nothing to tip the scales of an election. No undecided voters in Pennsylvania are going to say, “I’m going with Newspaper A’s endorsement.” None. What presidential endorsements actually do is create a perception of bias. A perception of non-independence. Ending them is a principled decision, and it’s the right one. Eugene Meyer, publisher of The Washington Post from 1933 to 1946, thought the same, and he was right. By itself, declining to endorse presidential candidates is not enough to move us very far up the trust scale, but it’s a meaningful step in the right direction…

…Lack of credibility isn’t unique to The Post.
Our brethren newspapers have the same issue.
And it’s a problem not only for media, but also for the nation.
Many people are turning to off-the-cuff podcasts, inaccurate social media posts and other unverified news sources, which can quickly spread misinformation and deepen divisions.
The Washington Post and the New York Times win prizes, but increasingly we talk only to a certain elite.
More and more, we talk to ourselves. …
