Today James talks to Miriam Gomez about her experience putting down roots and connecting with like-minded freedom-seekers in a foreign country. For those who have thought about moving away from their home, how can you connect with others and build an agora despite language and cultural barriers, and what’s the best way to integrate yourself into a foreign land? Find out the details in this edition of #SolutionsWatch.

Yes James, keep dreaming, vividly !
I’ve dreamt for decades, that people would start thinking and saying the sorts of things I am at last hearing, it’s sad that it took something as damaging as the lockdown to bring this thinking out into the open, but at last people are imagining heaven on earth out loud and without religious dogma, but with love and freedom in their hearts.
There is so much still to do, but we are on our way, and it is good.
May the PEOPLES reset thrive and grow.
@SuziAlkamyst
I love the genuine enthusiasm and heartfelt presence in your comments.
The last part of your comment evoked this song to my mind:

“Enter the wild with care…
…And speak the things you see
Let new names take and root and thrive and grow”
Tears and 💗
I must say my daughter is a free spirit and has been most all of her life. She has been integrating her self into Barbados. She wants dad to sell the property and join her. I’ll forward this to her and see if she knows about the Freedom cells.
I told her about Falkner and his proclamations on having all the world in ones own backyard. He never mentioned the reverse of that like my daughter said to me; the world is my oyster.
So. .. has it been so long ago went my folks asked ” wat’s amatter you?” Time has a way of fermenting ones’ juices. Best of luck to all you . As they say in Amarillo, bon voyage.
” wat’s amatter you?”
I remember my grandfather yelling that at my dad and uncle!
Thanks for the recovered memory.
Cormie,
You are welcome, see the receptionist at the front desk, pay what you can and make a follow up appointment in about 2 weeks. Have a Good day.
…whya you lookin so blue…
Thanks very much for this James and Miriam. Seeing people taking action to apply their unique gifts to build emergent sub-cultures that resist tyranny, enhance local culture, ecology and build food sovereignty… truly inspiring. This is the medicine our human family needs. Thank you Derrick and Miriam for planting the seeds for a more honest, humble, creative and courageous way to live.
The FreedomCellNetwork and the Conscious Agora are engaging in Ethnogenesis (creating a permanent Counter-Culture that opens up parallel expressions of society to “thrive and grow” (as SuziAlkamyst said above).
I have been attempting to do my own version of this here in the eastern woodlands of Turtle Island in conjunction with creating community regenerative agroforestry (food forest) plantings and I did a presentation about this describing the process as Designing Biocultural Refugia.

“mutual aid group”
I like that phrase which Miriam Gomez used around the 20 minute marks.
The phrase melds with the idea of the Agora.
People who want and need something connecting/exchanging with people who produce or serve those needs.
Just by participating, everyone contributes to the Agora.
It’s all great, but sometimes people are not ready in the area to do anything – nor do they see the necessity to prepare and grow food etc. We have a guy who grows things in our area but only to sell and for himself – he is quite dismissive of us actually, when he realised we were growing things too! We are in rural France and it is very difficult with the language and just not enough people who want to share ideas. My hubby is 60 and I am older and the age thing appears to be a big barrier to younger people. One ‘freedom’ cell were asking people to join under 40! A lady from the Freedom Cells stayed in our house for a couple of days – payed nothing and did nothing! We will try elsewhere later on when we move again, as we are looking to move out of France at some point and to try to buy a bit more land!
Derrick Broze is presenting about the Conscious Agora project late today (streaming live on the People’s Reset)! 🙂
I have a lot of respect for what him and Miriam are doing down there building community, preserving/creating a regenerative sub-culture and regenerating the Earth at the same time.
