Oh gosh. I have probably heard every one of your interviews since 2012 and I’ve had my favorites of course….but this is, without a doubt, the very best! Maybe because I have a signed copy of your book and have loved every word of it. It seems odd in a way but hearing you speak with Mr. Heys about the intricate way in which you have written your book….was profound and more personal than I’ve ever heard you say. But then again it was about your book! Such a good job James. I go to my Library in my small town 2 or 3 times a week and I will be telling them how they can get this book for their shelves.
Hello! Nick here. Really happy to hear your feedback regarding this interview. I think James really knocked it out of the park and it was a real pleasure to spend some time with him. It’s the perfect intro to the book, which expands massively on all the topics and concepts discussed. Really hope you can get your library to stock a copy (or ten!)
This dude has a pretty epic looking odysse Channel….looking forward to listening to some of his work.
Re TV I know the exact look Mr Corbett refers to, it creeped me out to see kids with that empty faced look. My own kids never saw a screen running when they were small. Back to the audio for me.
Hi Duck! Appreciate you taking a look at my Odysee channel (Nick Heys here!). Most of my work lives on YouTube (unfortunately, as that’s where I started off) under the Playlists tabs you can see all the books I’ve read in full on the channel. Each episode has a ‘preamble ramble’ where I add some context before getting into the reading. Most videos have a pinned comment below with timestamps if you want to jump past the intro to get straight to the meat and potatoes! Hope you enjoy and would love to hear your feedback if you get chance to take a look. Cheers
Hi!
Do you have a podcast? I was too stupid to find the link if there is one.
If not I need to download the video and run it yjru open shot to make it into MP3, which is no big deal TBH.
Just started the one in King Charles, not an hour in yet. All the best.
I have not yet got my isht together to set up a podcast, so for now my work is only available on the streaming platforms… a few people have asked me for this now so I really need to set it up… thanks for the reminder!
It’s very straightforward when you have the files setup on your local server somewhere. WordPress, for example, comes with a number of tools for this purpose, as for everything else.
Even if you do not have your own site, I think odysee can be used for this purpose as it offers direct download links. I’m not sure whether they offer separate links to download audio only, though.
This must be my project for 2025 – the world needs a HEYS REVIEWS podcast!
Yes, looks like there are many ways to do this.

Hello James,
Congrats on your book! Report,,, ah? how do you pronounce it? Reportahhhghghgh? Idge?
Whatever. Reportage. Hope you sell a million copies!!!!
I only got through a couple of minutes of this interview, but when you mentioned the left/right paradigm of politics, I couldn’t help but think of one of my very favorite songs!
I shall link your members to it. Why?
Cause it’s fuchking good!

If one listens to the lyrics, one will understand what politics is really all about!
You can thank me later……ha ha, or your members can.
On your other recent podcast, James, I paused for some time when you were about to reveal who your hero in life was…. I paused the video for a long while – in mid sentence – whilst trying to come up with my own hero – before you spoke yours. It was funny that you ultimately copped out. 🙂 The only hero that I could think of, in the meantime, for myself, was JFK. But, you know, on second thought, I’m now thinking that I ought to really include Jack Bruce!!!!
He is amazingly incredible! His voice and base blows me away! When I had seen him live in concert, one time, (in a relatively small venue) you have no idea how loud I called his name!!!!
Again, good luck with your new book!!!!!
Great tune and thanks for the share! (Nick here, from HEYS REVIEWS)
When it comes to songs about politics I often think of this one by Jordan Page, it’s called Pendulum (because it’s keep swinging from the left to the right and back again)

Good to hear a smart young fellow Lancastrian. I was in Hanoi in February. Quite a singular place! 9999 gold rings on sale at spot price (+1 or 2%). Very socialistic mentality, which has its merits.
I’m glad my Lancastrian-ness was recognisable! Sometimes people think I’m American or Canadian or Australian… There are things I love about Vietnam. One thing is they still have a strong culture regarding monogamy, marriage and family
Your accent seems to have been overlaid with a bit of “Americanism of indeterminate provenance” so I could only hazard a guess that your original neck of the woods is somewhere between Bolton and Nelson!
There’s a true story I once heard of a woman who tried to call one of her family members who had emigrated to the USA. She realised she had got the wrong number when an old gentleman answered. She apologised for having dialled his number in error and was about to put the receiver down when he suddenly said, “Wait a minute! You must be from Lancashire!” “Oh well, yes I am.” she replied. It turned out that the gentleman was none other than Stan Laurel. Having discovered their common origins they continued chatting away for a good half an hour! At the end of the call he thanked her for relating all the news from his home county. This happened in 1965, a week before Stan Laurel’s death.
As for Vietnam and monogamy, well it makes a change from several other SE Asian countries I could name!
You got it, Burnley to be exact!
Well the monogamy is openly encouraged, expected and culturally reinforced… for better or worse!
Here’s a refresher for the selfish ledger.

Nice one! I have to watch this as I have never seen it before – thanks for the link
My favorite song (philosophy is my passion since 1966) is: “Trust Yourself” by Bob Dylan
The most important philosophy branch is epistemology, e.g., psycho-epistemology. I have read Ayn Rand’s book “Introduction to Objectivist Epistemology” many, many times, very slowly, stoping to think. It’s how I learn.
My pick for goat is ARISTOTLE, with Ayn a close second. She opened up my mind, saved my life, with the very 1st 2 books I read by her: “The Virtue of Selfishness”, “For the New Intellectual”. Only then did I read her fiction.
“My favorite song (philosophy is my passion since 1966) is: “Trust Yourself” by Bob Dylan”
I think we have to keep coaxing and prodding James into liking Dylan. 🙂
Currently Dylan is not his cup of tea. Perhaps his voice is a turn-off?
Once you get used to/past his set of pipes you can nestle into a rich oasis of exquisite poetry.
Fawlty,
You said that right. Not to mention he, Dylan surrounds himself with top talented musicians.

This was really good. James was great (as usual) but the interviewer performed exceptionally well. Really impressive interviewer. I was actually surprised at how engrossing a book tour interview could be. I hope I can get my son to watch the whole thing. He is 45, and a Math PhD, now training AI. And he likes saying he is a leftist, celebrating Earth Day, and telling me not to trust my lying eyes when I flew over Greenland. He lives in Portland; talk about how even the smartest fish is not able to understand water…
Hello Hanky! Nick here (from the interview) thank you for your kind comments and feedback. I think this interview went well, but it’s all thanks to James’ eloquence and deep knowledge of his subject matter. But the book is fantastic and should be accessible even to a Portlandian AI enthused leftist such as your son!
James IS eloquent and interesting. You were new to me, and very good at making this interesting. I thought you’re questions were excellent. And your comments were relevant, and didn’t derail the flow.
The book has plenty to offer my son, and others that I wish to reach, but getting them to actually read it and subject themselves to it is the problem. To them, this stuff is poisonous, as well as stinky. We’ll see…
Good luck! Thanks for your kind feedback, I am planning to interview more authors so if there are any you’d like to see please let me know! I am thinking of Iain Davies who James has spoken to multiple times.
Yes it’s hard to get people to read the stuff they most need to learn… that’s partly why I started doing it for them on my livestreams!!
