Yes, they having been dreaming of an EU military force for ages now. But here’s the thing: Their time has passed. The tide is turning. The European Zeitgeist is shifting. Globalism has lost its cool. That includes climate threats, pandemics, digital nonsense and ever more centralised power. There’s a far greater chance that the EU will implode like the Soviet Union before it than an EU standing army will get off the ground. Localism is the new kid on the block and Centralism will have to give way. This slow but steady shift includes the British Isles.
Why do you think the EU will implode?
Haven’t the British historically gloated about their “splendid isolation,” I don’t think this is a new trend. They are islands, after all.
Since you asked the question I will offer my answer.
The European Union will implode for pretty much the same reason the Soviet Union imploded – economics, Or more precisely, bad economics – the inevitable result of over-centralised planning and control.

Splendid isolation was a good tactic to keep then British empire master of the waves and prevent anyone else threatening the home island or the empire…..without the Empire British elites are stuck between Europe and the US – neither are which want good things for them.
The average Brit in my experience disliked the EU (and foreigners from it…) but the Elites were all over it like flies on dung.
The British spent a lot of time and effort prior to WW1 making sure that no single power dominated Europe because when they all had to keep big armies for fear of each other they could not afford a Navy big enough to sweep the Royal Navy off the map and invade England.
That’s why the British were so upset about Germany becoming a country in 1871 ,and destroyed themselves trying to stop Europe unifying.
Again, the people running the UK are spiritual technocrats like the EU apparatchiks but are ALMOST as much under the US yoke as Germany…..with the US destabilizing the British elites have more in common with the EU IMO but normals are getting fed up with the situation with the economy and immigration.
I agree the EU will implode but the situation is pretty uncertain as to when how and what will happen after

In George Orwell’s 1949 dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, the world is divided into three superstates: Oceania, Eurasia and Eastasia, which are all fighting each other in a perpetual war in a disputed area mostly located around the equator. All that Oceania’s citizens know about the world is whatever the Party wants them to know, so how the world evolved into the three states is unknown; and it is also unknown to the whether they actually exist in reality, or whether they are a storyline invented by the Party to advance social control.

It is becoming more obvious by the day that we are all living inside a very well designed trap that could be so much more beautiful than it is about to become.
It is so well designed I think that the current world problems have happened before in differnt forms. It is a tricky one to talk about but I think you should say something about the concept of Tartaria which is a “shady” subject to many but when we look around us at the magnificence of some of the very old buildings that still exist in this world we have to ask ourselves the question how were they built by people using hammers and chisels, mules and carts…
