Researchers in the Mission, Texas, laboratory developed new chemical compounds specifically attractive to screwworm flies. Used to bait traps, the “Swormlure” attractants enabled workers to more accurately measure fertile and sterile fly populations. The attractants also became a component in screwworm-specific pesticide pelletsโScrewworm Adult Suppression System (SWASS)โwhich consisted of Swormlure-2, a feeding attractant and insecticide. SWASS was to reduce the denser tropical screwworm populations enough to make the Sterile Insect Technique effective. The re-eradication in Curaรงao in 1976-1977 established SWASS’s value.
Please don’t act like the only alternative to cow’s flesh is bugs. I haven’t eaten any animal flesh for 25 years. I’m 79 and take no meds, except cannabis. There is a wealth of delicious, healthy food available besudes bugs. Please….please!

Itโs true you can live in a vegetarian diet- but feeding 8 or however many billion people a healthy diet without cheep animal products is not going to happen easily even if itโs possible (which I doubt)
In practice a meat free diet for the masses would be highly processed grain and chemicals. Maybe everyone could eat a healthy vegetarian diet after they cull off most of the people but even then I donโt see it happening if the elites have their way.
Itโs crazy that with all the spare grass land in the US that supported bison in the past that we donโt have cows turning in edible grass into high quality meat for little cost and little environmental degradation compared to industrial grain production
The compatibility of undulant with pasture is being re-learned, after a century of mismanagement. So is agriculture being re-thought – with respect for “nature” – instead of arrogance, e.g., the mono-culture mistakes lasted for millennia, along with plowing, that slowly ruined the soil fertility. Ironically, farmers had slowly been “miners of soil fertility”, destroying their livelihood. Grain-fed produce is not healthy, as is the cheaper to produce, environmentally sound all grass-fed.
Part of the problem is govt. intervention, for short term gain of a few, that eventually kills all. For example, Pasteurized milk is dead milk. But more convenient, profitiable for the middle men. Not a problem, IF we were free to choose. The truth would come out, no one would consume it. Choice is denied by the initiation of deadly threat – laws. That is suicide. It removes our only means of survival – our mind. There is no collective mind. Humanity needs universal individual sovereignty to exist.

You and I are in an awkward position. I have been 100% vegan for 37 years. (I also never take meds, including cannabis) I can attest that anti- vegan propaganda, swallowed and regurgitated by our comrades, is false and misleading. But their cognitive dissonance and appeal to authority (alternative press) is very understandable, and needs to be forgiven. We also need to speak the truth from our lived experience, despite being conflated with foolish young zealots, such as the PETA activists, and crazy leftists.
Ironically, I am humble enough to know that I can’t prescribe diets to everyone. I do, however, know things about how this lifestyle affects MY mind and body, as well as my wife and kids. I just need to counter the lies on this topic.

I homeschool my children, but, because they have friends, I often get a pretty good idea of what others their age are actually being taught (&/or how they get away with “progressing” to the next grade with flying colors – WOW, they love A.I., by the way.). ย Anyway, my once-pupil had been my “foster niece” up until Fall 2020, when her mother took her back, and moved, then put her in public school. Anyway, LONG story short, my niece is in high school now and I often try to go visit and ask what she’s learning. Last year or so, she was taking a course called, “Human Geography.” (The folks joked about what that may be about – Anatomy, Reproduction, & somebody even started singing, “Your Body Is A Wonderland” as a joke.) ย But I had a pretty good idea of what THAT class would entail (& it did) – migratory patterns & predictions of such, based on climate change & overpopulation predicaments.Now, I’d talked to her & even showed her documentaries & such fallacies regarding “climate change” issues before, and she seemed receptive and understanding of the illusions.
But that was years ago – AND- she’d failed THAT government-school argument the moment she’d tried to suggest that such a “consensus” wasn’t actually agreed upon among scientists. ย
So this this time, I focused on the whole “Overpopulation” point – starting with fun references from “King Of The Hill,” to assertions by influential (and fatally flawed) figures, such as Paul Ehrlich & Al Gore (of whom she’d been taught by the school) and how incredibly wrong they’d been, Ehrlich in the 1960’s, Gore in the early 2000’s – right up until their recent reiterations – which STILL haven’t happened! ย

My partner left me so he could sleep with his iPhone. That’s not a joke. He, like most people who got their hands on these things got addicted. I know and know of only a few people who don’t use or don’t have cell phones. The rest are walking and sitting around with their heads down most of the time and their posture shows it. They don’t care about it that they are co-responsible for the breakdown of interpersonal interactions, of being voluntary supporters and drivers of the ‘digital age’ and the digital prison we all are being herded into. It’s no coincidence that these things were put into humanity’s hands.

During my 50 year journey of no TV, Movies, etc. I wasn’t taking a long 4:20 break ๐ฎ I studied lots of disciplines and paths, and human psychological conditioning, etc. And when I first got on the web and free cable in 2016 the madness of it all was quite over-whelming.

Never had a breathing issue from the moment they “die-agnosed” me. No phlegm, no coughing, nothing but a CT of my lungs showing fuzzy stuff and my home O2 finger thingy tester being a bit low post discharge.
Basically I went in for new monia and came out 18 pounds lighter with horrible sleep deprivation and could barely walk from the five weeks of bed “rest.” A good farmer/vet couple helped me out for months getting to checkups, shopping, etc.
I have been here since about the start of CR. James used my song “It Starts With You And Me” as a segue song early on.

It sounds like you are surviving the breathing challenges. Congratulations. I have dealt with many myself, starting at the age of 8. But I have been coming out on top for the last 37 years. I never go to the doctor. We also never had a TV. I may start using a smart phone, as my client just bought me a new one, and with that I can talk to my son in Europe, and also record things. Maybe even use GPS, when I get lost, driving.
BTW, I too have found some of you replies and posts abrasive. I also don’t subscribe to everything that you post. However, I don’t take a hardened negative stance because of it. I prefer to judge each episode on its own merit, and remain civil.

IMO, the idea of being an adult is to speak up when something bothers you. So if you and others can’t it is not on me. And just what is being “abrasive” anyway, speech one doesn’t like?
An “argument” is to give reasons for one’s thinking and reasoning via conversation. Many type of arguments, most often in my experience it is a lack of ability in another to express themselves and just settle for ignoring a person or not interested.
IMO I am not interested in discussing nonsense that I don’t believe in…God/Heaven/Devils, politics, sports, etc. Like I said in my song:
“Everyone’s and Einstein till they’re not” ๐

BTW I live near the stadium that hosts a World Cup soccer match today. The forecast was for it to be over 100F and sunny today. They were warning spectators to bring protection like umbrellas. But a cloud came over this morning, and it rained and cooled down nicely. It was a very localized small storm, which cleared up quickly, just in time for the match.
The most famous World Cup ‘hand of God’ was when Diego Maradona illegally touched the ball with his hand, but subsequently got away with it, winning the game for Argentina. He said it was “a little with the head of Maradona and a little with the hand of God”.

I would like to take this opportunity to start a discussion amongst everybody. And encourage everybody to have discussions with those they know about our addiction of technology, because it starts with you and meโฆ we are the only ones that can change the way we operate in life. And itโs never an overnight solution as we all know. But maybe we can start by slowly moving things the direction we wish to see you go. Usually, we associate the frog in boiling water analogy in a bad way. But it doesnโt have to be in this case. So maybe start by leaving our phones at home once in a while. Then eventually getting people used to not be able to get a hold of you all the time. I believe that will also allow people to value our time more as well. I can go on and out about this and this could be a six hour conversation. Now, ask yourself this question how did it start? How did we get to where weโre at today?
It happened Slowly, right? I propose that we use the same method that caused us to be where we are today in reverse if that makes sense.
