lately my mother claimed that we were directly related to two signatories of the declaration of independence, and I said yeah but if we allow 25 years for a generation, 250 years ago would indicate the likely ancestry of being descended from 2048 people. what about the other 2046 people?? if we take this line of thought back to the 1400’s renaissance, each one of us that claims euro ancestry is related to half of those estimated to have been alive in Europe back then.

Iโm in the UK and all I can say about the loss of funding of the BBC is that I think itโs planned. Generationally families have loved and relied on the BBC output. If that โcollapsesโ people will be even more confused / scared than they are now.
Keep the populous scared to keep them compliant.
May even lead to civil unrest, just what the (very small) military are preparing for.

Hi James, I am a brit living in London and my sense is that people have turned away from Aunty Beeb for a number of reasons. Firstly, people are fed up with the biased news which gives us wall to wall doom and gloom, a lot of people get their ‘news’ from podcasts etc, secondly, other platforms like Netflix and Amazon have replaced the entertainment content of the the Beeb which has plunged in quality over the past 20 years. I watch a lot of the drama from the 1970s and 80s on youTube and it is head and shoulders above anything that is now produced. Thirdly, even the normies are well aware of the corporate control of our society and although many still desperately hold on to the left right paradigm it feels like that illusion is dying leaving a lot of people feeling cynical and quietly belligerent, hence the ramping up of the Russian War and the Climate Collapse narratives by all the usual suspects to try and regain some traction for the Power who shouldn’t be.
If it is true that 10 – 15% of any group are impossible to hypnotise perhaps this 1.2 million approx who have turned away from the Beeb in the past 6 years constitute a chunk of that sceptical group in the UK population.
When a phrase doesn’t have a solid hook into its use, I never like to let a good anagram opportunity go to waste, so apologies if my word-nerdyness was in overdrive, but the longest anagram from Albiston Shadow is “bloodstains” and the leftover letters HAW are an acronym for Heavy Anti-armor Weapon, just saying, so Heavy Anti-armor Weapon bloodstains, seems legit to me.

Looking out the window at the wildlife that accumulates on the deck brings to mind how unimportant and ridiculous the BBC really is. Just ask the Wren. Singing his or her songs as loud as birdly possible. I doubt the BBC could put on a show as entertaining as this show-off diva of the forest. We are so easily fooled and I’m sure that bird is mocking all humans with its song.
Well, maybe not all humans but at least those residing in Texas wearing sweaters when it’s only 91ยฐ.
Yeah, I’m waiting for it to warm up. For weeks now, day after day it has only been 38C (100F).
I bet those areas east of Tulsa are nice this time of year with the lakes, waterways and dynamic green countryside. Those Wrens can sure scold a person when things aren’t right.
While still dark, I enjoy the Cardinals signaling the breaking sunrise. Mornings are nice. At that time of day with mixed birdseed on the ground, I have so many different types of birds right off my front porch that I can’t identify them all. The crows typically give their morning ‘caw’ communications and often sift the grass for crickets or in-the-shell peanuts. Sometimes, the red-tailed hawk a hundred feet away will screech when I open my door, whether morning or 5 pm.
Overnight, the opossum, racoon or skunk or deer will rummage the left-over bird-food on the ground.
My favorite bird is the Roadrunner. And they really do lean forward and zip suddenly as they go for a lizard or bug. I’ve even seen one in town looking for food on the lawn of a business during high traffic.
I worried about Roadrunner. Roadrunner might be in trouble…

It’s a relief to see you make the transition from City to Country living. Western Texas is an enchanted land. Those roadrunners are fun to watch on the golf courses from Tulsa to Clark County Nevada. Certainly the Coyote is an underdog and emblematic of slower, larger Texas , and of course the smaller, faster and brighter Roadrunner representing Oklahoma is just parr for the course… snuggly riding on Texas’ back .
It would be nice if gasoline prices were back to normal I could get out more. Then again , 28 miles, round trip to civilization is about a $ 7.00 tax , so the red birds and Wrens are looking affordable. I’m not gonna worry about Texas either. All those Cardinals are probably from here anyway . Take care ol’ T.
