Welcome. This is James Corbett of corbettreport.com with your Sunday Update for Thursday, October 15, 2026.
And now for the real news.
On Monday, US President and noted Jeffrey Epstein associate Donald Trump revealed the reason that Operation Epstein Fury, his super flawless plan to rid the world of the Iranian threat, failed: he killed too many senior Iranian officials.
DONALD TRUMP: And then the fake news will say Iran is doing splendidly. They got no ships! They got no nothing! They got no leaders, even. That’s the problem. We might have gone too far with the leaders, ’cause we don’t know who the hell we’re dealing with anymore.

Americans who were hoping that such a “mission accomplished” declaration signaled an end to the never-ending war in the Middle East, however, were disappointed to learn that Trump has in fact been discussing the possibility of resuming large-scale attacks against Iran with his boss, Benjamin Netanyahu.
Citing unnamed US and Israeli sources, Axios reports that the two misleaders have had multiple discussions on the issue over the past two weeks, and that “major combat operations” against Iran, including the possibility of joint US and Israeli strikes on military and nuclear targets, are on the table.
According to the report, “restarting major attacks on Iran would likely hurt Republicans in the November 3rd midterm elections, as it would worsen the energy crisis and raise gas prices in the US.”
Although a president whose entire political existence depends on “Making America Great Again” pushing for a policy that would hurt America and even his own party’s political fortunes seems at first glance to make no sense, the report then explains the real motivation for resuming military operations against Iran: “Netanyahu and his coalition may benefit in the October 27 Knesset elections.”
“Bibi’s got an election before the midterms. He believes his strength is being a wartime prime minister,” one US official told the outlet, apparently unaware that he had just admitted the reality of a Zionist Occupied Government.
So, how is Iran responding to these latest provocations? With threats of their own, of course!
According to The Wall Street Journal, “Iranian officials have warned publicly and in private conversations with regional officials that the Islamic Republic will respond with further escalation across the Middle East if the U.S. launches new strikes.”
These strikes could even include ground invasions of neighbouring Gulf states.
In an attempt to deter a potential attack, some Iranian officials have hinted that their forces could conduct land incursions into neighboring countries, according to people familiar with the warnings. Iran’s top national-security official, Mohsen Rezaei, said on Sunday that Tehran could target the United Arab Emirates, which has largely escaped being attacked since late spring, as well as data centers and internet cables across the region.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, meanwhile, has backed up this tough talk with a chilling video of their forces preparing for ground combat.
IRGC MEMBER (Speaking Farsi): In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. The great nation of Iran is now witnessing the roar of ground forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Our message to the invading enemies is clear and straightfoward: set foot on soil and we will scatter your ashes to the wind.
SOURCE: IRGC video
Uhhhh….Why is this giving me Sesame Street vibes? Oscar, is that you?
While the Iranians’ ability to conduct massive ground operations is still untested, their ability to exert control on the Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping lane for sea traffic from the Gulf region, is not in doubt. On Wednesday, the IRGC took credit for the sinking of another ship in the embattled Strait, this time a cargo vessel carrying 2,500 containers
The disruption to global shipping caused by the closure of the Strait is now wreaking havoc in global supply chains, threatening widespread humanitarian disaster.
The first major emergency to hit the world as a result of this disruption: a food security crisis. Nearly a third of globally traded urea and one half of seaborne sulphur—key agricultural inputs—pass through the Strait. Now, UN officials are warning that the closure of the Strait threatens food security in parts of Asia and Africa.
But food security in Asia and Africa is of less concern to wealthy Western nations than their primary interest in the Strait of Hormuz: cheap gas.
Soaring diesel prices have caused Trump to take the unprecedented step of dropping sanctions against Russia in order to buy 300,000 tons of diesel from Moscow at massively inflated prices in a desperate bid to buy voters off before the midterm.
Even more surprising: Trump is reportedly using his son-in-law, noted Chabad-Lubovitch-connected money launderer Jared Kushner, to negotiate a deal with Putin to reopen the Nord Stream gas pipelines.
In September 2022, three of the four Nord Stream pipelines were blown up in an act of sabotage that was perpetrated—according to veteran researcher Seymour Hersh—by US Navy divers under the cover of a naval exercise. This atrocious war crime and environmental disaster came after years of US officials threatening to commit just such an act of terrorism.
BIDEN: If Russia invades […] there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it.
SOURCE: President Biden on Nord Stream 2 Pipeline if Russia Invades Ukraine: “We will bring an end to it.”
The sabotage is now officially blamed on a rogue, drunken band of former Ukrainian security service agents, and a show trial of one of the alleged conspirators has just gotten underway in Germany.
Now, the Nord Stream 2 gambit, along with the diesel purchase and a deal that the US just negotiated with Belarus for 30,000 tonnes of Belarussian potash, add up, in the view of geopolitical commentator Andrew Korybko, to a US gambit to construct a “NATO 3.0” balance of power in Eurasia that cements US control of global energy flows:
The US’ NATO 3.0 concept envisages European NATO leading Russia’s containment, which could either worsen tensions if Germany’s remilitarization poses a 1941-like threat or result in a new energy-driven modus vivendi under the US’ supervision. […] Regardless of how […] NATO 3.0 evolves, one thing is certain, and it’s that US-led creative energy diplomacy will likely shape the post-war European security architecture.
Wait! This just in! I hear we’re getting word that Trump’s latest DEI hire, new press secretary Barbie McLawyerson, is prepared to deliver some remarks on these topics.
KATIE ZACHARIA: I am so honoured to work for President Trump and the American people…as the new White House Press Secretary. I want to thank…President Trump…for his trust that he has placed in me. I have wanted to work for him…for a very…long time.
Uhhhh, we’ll get right back to her if and when she ever manages to put together a sentence…like a regular…human being.
In other news, the crisis in the Gulf continues to expand as Saudi Arabia comes under full-scale assault from Houthis in Yemen.
So far, 17 airlines from 13 separate countries have cancelled or suspended flights into Saudi Arabia following Yemeni strikes on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport earlier this week. Horrific scenes have emerged from the Houthi strike on the airport, where 13 were killed and hundreds more injured.
The Houthis have vowed to continue their campaign against the oil kingdom until the “brutal Saudi aggression against our country and our people” is ended.
The Houthis also said they will continue taking decisive action “to enforce the announced equations—airport for airport, blockade for blockade, and escalation for escalation”—until their objectives are achieved.
The increasing intensity and effectiveness of these Houthi attacks have left embattled Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman desperate for military assistance from almost anyone.
After Washington declined to intervene directly, Riyadh has turned to Pakistan, Turkey, and Syria for military help.
One country he is not looking for assistance from: Israel.
Israel’s Haaretz is reporting that “Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is seeking Saudi Arabia’s approval, through U.S. mediation, for Israel to join the campaign against Yemen’s Houthis,” a ploy the paper’s sources claim is meant at normalizing relations between Riyadh and Tel Aviv. But, the paper’s sources add, “Bin Salman opposes [Israeli] military involvement because of the likely backlash among the kingdom’s public.”
No word yet on whether indicted war criminal and genocide enthusiast Benjamin Netanyahu is planning a Flydubai-style false flag against the Saudis to change their mind.
And that’s the news you won’t hear anywhere else.

I loved it!! Thank you.
Please continue.
i would really appreciate an hour long weekly news update.
You said it Jack…“I loved it!! Thank you. Please continue.”
Sunday(?) Update was superbly brilliant!
This was Corbett classic retro at its finest… It had the same 10 minute time restraint, the same rhythmic pattern of intonation…the kind of patter that only Corbett can do. And, as usual there is dry humor sewn into the script. We’ll see what happens with the White House Barbie next week.
I gotta give extra bonus points to the clever script, and the huge amount of information that Corbett relays.
I’ll be watching this retro classic again on slow pause-speed so I can digest the information.
…and a hat tip to Broc West for working overtime.
Yes, I agree.
Excellent reportage, as per.
Huge thanks!!!
Thank you James, incisive and informative as usual.
James, same ol news hey?

“The Merry Minuet” 1959
They’re rioting in Africa
They’re starving in Spain
There’s hurricanes in Florida
And Texas needs rain
The whole world is festering
With unhappy souls
The French hate the Germans
The Germans hate the Poles
Italians hate Yugoslavs
South Africans hate the Dutch
And I don’t like
Anybody very much
But we can be tranquil
And thankful and proud
For man’s been endowed
With a mushroom shaped cloud
And we know for certain
That some lovely day
Someone will set the spark off
And we will all be blown away
They’re rioting in Africa
There’s strife in Iran
What nature doesn’t do to us
Will be done by our fellow man
I reckon you wrote that 67 years ago. Didn’t really require editing, did it?
Not sure what you are trying to say there, feels snarky??
It was the Kingston Trio I was 17 and a junior in High School.
Pop music had a sense of humor back then. The Purple People Eater; Hello Muddah. Hello Father. Here I am at Camp Granada., etc.
I thought that ity was one of your songs.
Nope. But here’s one I finished and posted today…

No thanks.
Yeah, that’s the spirit of social activism. :-/ And folks wonder why we aren’t able to join together and fight the controllers?
A PSYCHIC EPIDEMIC (song)
https://old.bitchute.com/video/1hqeShieZ2jY/
Are you calling for social activism? Some would interpret it as a call to terrorism. How far did you think this through? Are you under a spell of your own words?
We all hate the hypocrisy of those in power, but your lists of fraudulent practices is not the practical solution. You are right about me; I am no longer a firebrand activist. I now can only hope for the slower, big changes in the population at large. In other words I see no alternative to continuing the spreading of truth and logic, but without obvious, or immediate reward.
>>Are you calling for social activism? Some would interpret it as a call to terrorism.>>
Some would call that Making jumps in logic (non-sequitur) Identifying a false cause and effect. And Making false or misleading comparisons (false equivalence) and (false analogy)
>>How far did you think this through? Are you under a spell of your own words?>>
You are invested in yet another Fallacy:
Insulting someone’s character. Ad hominem is a rhetorical tactic of attacking the character, motive, or some other attribute of the person making an argument rather than the substance of the argument itself.
If only you would discuss your facts and opinions and not me. :-/
I have a clear vision on the unfolding of our circumstances both historical and present, as best as I can discern from the available truth, and my long history of activism.
I’m hoping for realism meaning people becoming aware their lives are mostly addiction to self-pleasuring behavior…Jet Skis, Big Screen TV’s, SMART phones and tech, sports, celebrities, etc. with no true deep self understanding or comprehension of history and the here and now.
Most are caught in a web of mis-truths and false beliefs in a conditioning process using Parental, Peer norms, Bernays, Skinner, and Pavlovian behavior modification believing that is “real” life, so people prattle on from their mini seats in the theater.
“Everyone’s an Einstein till they’re not.”
>>We all hate the hypocrisy of those in power, but your lists of fraudulent practices is not the practical solution.>>
Generalizing quickly and sloppily (hasty generalization)
In a healthy argument (meaning two sides offering points of views, not angry tirades) you would point out examples of my non-practical thinking.
Your life, your choice and responsibility for such.
Barbie McLawyerson!! Hilarious, Pilato-level word play!!
Good work, James. Thank you.
I still would like to see the James Evan Pilato again. It is a nice bit of stylistic variety, with a different sense of humor.
Love the format James and I think you’re trying something new..or at least haven’t done in a while. Please continue. BTW, your Sesame Street line had me LMAO! Hilarious!
BUT, I had to go through 2 layers of Captcha to log in to put this comment. Please remove that. It’s something I expect from Google and other Tech Bros sites, not from your freethinking and acting site.
I really appreciate the update and like the format a lot, please continue to do these if possible.
(I do love me some NWNW banter, comradery and fun as well though!)
Great work James.
Decades ago, diesel fuel was cheaper than gasoline in the U.S. In fact, people would purchase diesel vehicles in order to save money on travel mileage.
James Corbett says,
“Nearly a third of globally traded urea and one half of seaborne SULPHUR—key agricultural inputs—pass through the Strait.”

The war in Iran is disrupting the supply of sulfuric acid, the world’s most common chemical
Shortages or price spikes could rattle industries across the economy
https://cen.acs.org/business/economy/sulfuric-acid-sulfur-fertilizer-iran-war/104/web/2026/05
EXCERPTS
Sulfuric acid is the most widely produced chemical in the world. It’s used to make fertilizers, metals, batteries, paper, pigments, and countless other products. The Persian Gulf is a key source of the sulfur used to make sulfuric acid…
…Most industrial sulfur is generated during the refining of oil and gas, which naturally contain sulfur impurities. Refineries typically use a …solution to remove hydrogen sulfide (H2S); then…convert the H2S into water and elemental sulfur…
…Freda Gordon calls sulfuric acid the king of chemicals because it’s used in so many different applications. The biggest use is the production of phosphoric acid for fertilizer, but she says growing demand for batteries has made the mining and metallurgy industries important consumers as well. Some of the chemical’s industrial uses include water treatment, dyes, glue, textiles, paper, and firefighting foam…
…The price of sulfur has quadrupled over the last year…
“We’re not really feeling it yet,” Gordon says. “We’re going to have inflation.”
James Corbett says,
“The increasing intensity and effectiveness of these Houthi attacks have left embattled Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman desperate for military assistance from almost anyone.”

5 Things You Need to Know About the Saudi Purge

Mohammed bin Salman is more at risk internally than from AnsarAllah attacks
https://ronpaulinstitute.org/mohammed-bin-salman-is-more-at-risk-internally-than-from-ansarallah-attacks/
EXCERPTS
…[Edward Luttwak] “…the reason for [the impotence] of Saudi Arabia, in the face of the Houthi offensive, is that, for the Kingdom’s ruling family, the most deadly danger has long been a military coup d’état — such as the one which ended Iraq’s monarchy and killed every single member of its Husseini ruling family on 14 July 1958.
Against that danger, the successive heads of the Saudi ruling family have implemented the most effective remedy possible: divide and rule, not against foreign enemies, but within their own armed forces. For that reason, the different combat elements of the armed forces are geographically separated in the country’s vast territory, and commanded by different princes in charge of various parts of the ministry of defence, all of which are subordinate to the minister himself, Prince Khalid (a younger brother of Mohammed bin Salman).” …
…By cutting off traditional tribal patronage by which tribal leaders had expected to receive their share of the kingdom’s oil wealth; by seizing tribal lands earmarked for MbS “vanity projects”; and by actively working to reshape Saudi Arabia’s core legitimacy away from traditional tribal-religious alliances towards a nationalist, youth-driven identity centred around Vision 2030, MbS has cut away the political leverage that traditional tribal elders historically held within the Royal Court…
…MBS has made many enemies through the transformation of the Kingdom not towards a nation-state, but rather toward being the property of a single family. He has concentrated immense political, economic, and security powers within his immediate branch of the family, acting as an absolute authority…
…Might the Saudi Kingdom experience a revolt against MbS? Such a possibility is not without precedent: When King Saud’s reckless governance threatened the monarchy’s survival in 1964, the family, senior princes, and the religious leadership stepped in to strip him of power and enforce his abdication….
Thank you James for being true to your word and honoring the audience request.
I very much appreciate what I hope will be a regular feature of the Corbett Report: a Weekly Update, done only as James himself can do. Please keep it coming and thank you!
I like the new format. It reminds me of the days when we had real News Anchors that actually
reported real News. The Oligarchs cleared the Networks of Real Journalists like Ted Compo prior to the Events of 9/11/01 for a reason. They, (an array of evil oligarchs) collaborated to profit from the Events of 9/11/01 which they had in the works since at least early 2000 with the establishment of The New American Century Think Tank, and they didn’t want their plans exposed.
The “New American Century” (which we are 25 plus years into) had a plan to create a “New Peal Harbor” Event which would allow them to deceive the masses into supporting the aggressive invasion of Oil exporting countries around the world. The fundamental idea was to control nearly all of the worlds energy for the, what was then, the next hundred years. (What could go wrong?)
Well, the Zionists who happily participated in the Events of 9/11/01, had a different plan whereby they could use the Events for their own political motives. And, there were no doubt a host of other evil players that just wanted to profit off the Events. I would call this dirty money or blood money, but I am sure these bastards have found a way to rationalize it all. Now, all these evil players have good reason to keep the Truth buried.
Anyway, back to the New Format for The Corbett Report of about ten minutes of hard hitting real News with accurate well placed video back up. I believe this has the potential to reach the masses and even change the direction the world has been going in.
Keep up the good work. It is making a difference.
Trump: “They (Iran) got no leaders even. That’s the problem.” Leader = ruler by violent threats – a disaster. No leaders = lack of central planning = local organizations being efficient by voluntary consent? OMG! That’s the solution! Did Trump ignorantly save Iran?

“Wait! This just in! I hear we’re getting word that Trump’s latest DEI hire, new press secretary Barbie McLawyerson, is prepared to deliver some remarks on these topics.” [video clip]

After Brutal Hannity Interview, Katie Zacharia Sets Record For Fastest-Fired Trump Official
https://www.zerohedge.com/political/after-brutal-hannity-interview-katie-zacharia-sets-record-fastest-fired-trump-official
Katie Zacharia, the Truth Social communications adviser and Fox/Newsmax fixture whom President Trump appointed on October 9 as his sixth White House press secretary, was fired Friday, barely a week after taking the job, the New York Times reported, citing three people familiar with the matter. Neither the White House nor Zacharia has commented.
Trump did not use the word fired. Speaking to reporters, he said he had urged her to “reconsider” and later added that he would “do whatever she wants.” He recounted telling her, “Honestly, if I were you, I’d reconsider,” and added: “Katie, do you need this? I don’t think you need this.” Fox News reported she is “transitioning out.”
The firing makes her the fastest-fired Trump official, on top of the shortest-tenured press official….

Netanyahu Hails Trump as ‘Greatest Friend of Israel’ in White House Endorsement
2:02
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fuWlRXAWv8
“President Trump, my dear friend Donald, I’m so honored and humbled by your extraordinary endorsement.
I could say, and that’s easy, there’s never been a greater friend of Israel in the White House. That’s an understatement. Not by the longest shot.
But I think America has been fortunate to have a leader of conviction, of clarity, of courage, who faces down this threat to America and to Israel. Those who chant death to Israel, death to America, this vile, murderous dictatorship in Tehran that wants to acquire nuclear weapons and the means to deliver it to every American city.
You understand that. And you’re not set back by internal criticism. You’re focused, laser focused on the task of removing the threat from the this current generation of Americans, from all future generations.
You’ve shown remarkable consistency and remarkable leadership.
And let me say to the American people, if you’re worried about today’s gas prices, think of what will happen if Iran gets nuclear weapons. Something that Donald Trump and I will never allow. And when that happens, when that threat of that regime disappears, gas prices will go down.
And how? But only under Trump. It’s not going to happen with those who want to accommodate and appease these tyrants, these butchers.
And I have to say that the world has been fortunate. America’s been fortunate. America’s allies have been fortunate. Israel has been fortunate. And the Jewish people have been fortunate to have a leader of such clarity, consistency, conviction, and courage as Donald J. Trump. Donald.
Thank you.
Thank you for your enduring support. Thank you for your unbelievable leadership.
Thank you, friend.”
P.S. We own you and America, President Trump.

Trump Issues Full-Throated Endorsement Of Netanyahu Ahead Of Tough Election
https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/trump-issues-full-throated-endorsement-netanyahu-tough-election
EXCERPTS
In what should come as no big surprise at all, President Trump has issued a whole-hearted endorsement for Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday as next Israeli prime minister.
Axios points out, “This is the first time in the history of the U.S.–Israel relations that a U.S. president explicitly and publicly endorsed a candidate in the Israeli elections.”
There’s a mere nine days to go before the country’s Oct.27 elections, and domestically Netanyahu has long been accused of prolonging and escalating conflicts in order to sell himself as the necessary ‘wartime president’.
Axios further observes that Trump’s endorsement was ‘needed’ as most polls show Netanyahu’s coalition “falling short of the 61 seats needed to form a government.”
Trump himself on Truth Social touted Bibi as “a Great Warrior Prime Minister” and a “great partner” in the war against Iran…
…Early on, after the US launched Operation Epic Fury, a slew of top admin officials including Marco Rubio admitted that the war is happening to defend Israel from the Iranian threat, and focused on preventing Tehran from getting nuclear weapons.
The White House has since tried to downplay it, but this remains the publicly articulated rationale among admin legal and official memos defending the ‘legal justification’ of the war. A State Department publication issued on April 21 of this year stated firmly: “As the United States has explained…the United States is engaged in this conflict at the request of and in the collective self-defense of its Israeli ally, as well as in the exercise of the United States’ own inherent right of self-defense.”
Yes please to Sunday updates. I feel like your reporting helps make sense of the fuckery, especially as it is delivered with excellent insight and most importantly humour.

Report: Pentagon Plans To Withhold Report on Minab School Massacre Past Midterms
The US still hasn’t admitted to bombing the Shajareh Tayyebeh Elementary School, an attack that killed at least 120 children

Bloomberg reported on Thursday that top Pentagon officials have expressed that they will withhold the release of an internal report on the US bombing of the Shajareh Tayyebeh Elementary School in Minab, southern Iran, which massacred at least 120 children, through the midterm elections…
…The massacre is one of the worst US war crimes since the Vietnam War, and it came after Hegseth hollowed out mechanisms meant to reduce civilian harm.
Last month, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) introduced a resolution to impeach Hegseth that included an article about how the Pentagon chief ignored US laws meant to minimize civilian harm and tied it to the bombing of the Shajareh Tayyebeh Elementary School….

Netanyahu map shows RSF ‘friendly’ to Israel and UAE, backing for separatist movements
Israeli leader broke the Middle East into competing blocks in new security presentation showing Ethiopia and Greece as ‘friendly’ states
https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/netanyahu-map-shows-rsf-friendly-israel-and-uae-backing-separatist-movements
EXCERPTS
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu unveiled a map of the wider Middle East showing his country and the UAE aligned with a paramilitary in Sudan, accused of committing genocide, and separatists in Libya, Yemen and Somaliland.
The map, which carried the logo of Germany’s Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Institute, will not surprise regional watchers, but it could prove awkward for some of Israel’s regional partners and cement suspicions among Arab states.
Israel and the UAE were shown as part of a “Hexagon Alliance”. The map showed Greece, Ethiopia and parts of India aligned with them. But it also showed a swath of southwestern Sudan as friendly to the UAE and Israel.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) control southwestern Sudan. United Nations experts and dozens of media reports, including from Middle East Eye, have revealed extensive Emirati support for the Sudanese paramilitary, which is led by former Janjaweed leader Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo and has been widely accused of committing genocide in Darfur. The UAE has officially denied backing the RSF.
The map was part of Netanyahu’s unveiling on Sunday of a new security doctrine that emphasises preemptive strikes and the establishment of “buffer zones” on Israel’s borders.
“The War of Redemption necessitated an upgrade of fundamental principles within the traditional national security doctrine, among them: giving priority to prevention and offense over containment and defense, including launching preemptive strikes to thwart evolving threats; strengthening home front defense against new threats; cementing Israel’s status as a regional power,” Netanyahu’s office said in a statement on Sunday.
“Opportunities have been created for forging new alliances in our region and beyond,” the statement added….
