October Open Thread and Subscriber Video (2026)

by | Oct 4, 2026 | Articles | 107 comments

It’s the first weekend of October, so it’s time to open up the October Open Thread. What’s on your mind this month?

Maybe you want to discuss Why ‘anⒶrchy’ is such a dirty word.

Or perhaps you would like to dissect The Anarchist’s Guide to Escaping the Matrix.

Or perchance you’d prefer to listen to a discussion with Menger Institute teacher Matthew Geiger, who is promoting a course on “The Economics of Anarchic Order.”

Or mayhaps you care to hear James explain his anarchistic beliefs for the umpteenth time.

Or possibly you’d prefer to read up on “Kropotkin, the Cossacks and the Anarchist Ideal.”

Or I guess it’s conceivable—and I’m going out on a limb here—that you might want to talk about something other than anarchism. But what else is there? I don’t know…Halloween?

Well, if you are interested in that particular subject, then you’re in luck. That’s what I’m talking about in this month’s subscriber exclusive video.

As always, Corbett Reporteers are invited to log in to the site and jump in to the open thread discussion in the comments below and/or watch this month’s subscriber exclusive video in the player below.

Oiche Samhain is a keltic festival celebrated annually, probably since before Christianity.
It isn’t an import from the USA and Canada, though they have made it very tacky.

That’s a good point. I would hazard a guess that it was Bowdlerised for Christian adoption, and subsequently commercialised into what many people call ‘Halloween’ today. I do find it morbidly amusing that some Christians today bemoan the demise of their culture (even though there are still millions upon millions of Christians around the world) while forgetting the genocidal roots of Christian faith i.e. invading other cultures and systematically bastardising and/or destroying the native beliefs of those cultures. I find it hard to take seriously the people who ignore those historical facts.

Anon
”…the native beliefs of those cultures.…”

start sarcasm:

Indeed..,,who doesn’t long for the days of Aztecs cutting out hearts en mass , or Inca sacrifices? Don’t we all long for a chance to see people fight to the death in Roman funeral rites? Who doesn’t wonder what the aroma of a Phoenician tophet was like? Why did you know that it was those Christian’s and their strange ideas about the value of human life that stopped the practice of leaving babies by the roadside????? How culturally insensitive to ban such a practice!

Let us be thankful that some native cultures were able to survive, and can to this day veil their women and practice female circumcision…..some vestiges of the old Mexico live on, as we can see with the Santa muerta veneration and the matamoros cult…..

End of sarcasm

As a rule, I don’t get into debates with pseudos. Of course, you’re entitled to your opinion; thank you for sharing it. Have a good day.

Haha, that was good.

Besides that, true Christians live as Christ commanded. I don’t remember Christ commanding that we go around committing genocide, as Anon said. Perhaps the issue, and Anon has missed it, is that so called “Christians” through the ages and even today, aren’t Christians in any way. Didn’t the Apostle Paul talk about an apostasy that was manifesting itself in his day? 2 Thess 2:7 Ah well, as the proctologist says: “It all comes out in the end.”

Still, leaving the “religious” talk aside as I’m sure some in the audience are beginning to get red-faced and ready to fly into a righteous atheistic rage, James had a point about the infantilization of the population and how Halloween is part of this plan.

It’s a personal bugaboo for me as I see this infantilization everywhere. But who’s easy to control? Children. And who wants the control to be as easy as possible? The predator/parasite class.

Literally in the bible it says, ‘Verily I say unto you, unless ye be converted and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.’ (Matthew 18:3).

So maybe they’re doing God’s work? lol

Clearly the Christian god isn’t an anarchist, what with His ‘kingdom’ and all that.

Anon
”…..Clearly the Christian god isn’t an anarchist, what with His ‘kingdom’ and all that…..”

That is quite true, God is a king.

The thing is that the idea of you having value as a human being comes from the idea that everyone is Gods creation- without that basic premise then there is absolutely no hard and fast moral rule about acting like Romans and killing people for amusement, or grinding up the useless eaters for fertilizer.

BTW is your actual name “anon” ?

Gosh, you really are unaware of your own ignorance. I hope one day you become more knowledgeable.

BTW, I mean pseudo as in pseudointellectual, not pseudonym (just in case that’s what you’re getting at).

Don’t worry, I won’t burn you at the stake for heresy.

Take care.

Anon
”….Gosh, you really are unaware of your own ignorance. I hope one day you become more knowledgeable…..”

Anon, that’s some classic silly girl
behavior There- does your special knowledge go to some other school so we wouldn’t know him????

acting like you know something only works well when you actually, well, know something. I recall when online atheists were a thing (possibly thanks to some Epstein funding weirdly enough) and even back then it was kinda pathetic to see them make arguments that were debunked in the 2nd century

There you go again…you just need a june bug Duck.
So long as the Sami have Raindeer races I’m all for them being Irish one night a year. .

As Halloween is celebrated today, it seems to normalize the practice of blackmail. Seen this way, Epstein playing trick-or-treat with the elitists class brings up happy, sugar-laden childhood memories instead of disgust.

That picture just made me recoil, almost retch and then laugh out loud. It’s so horrifically hilarious.

Conventional medicine (con-med) has essentially had a monopoly in the USA for over 100 years since the Flexner Report was published, when the Rockefeller & Carnegie trusts along with the AMA conspired to eliminate all but “scientific medicine”, i.e. drug medicine. And for chronic disease it has been a dismal failure with Very few cures. Some studies have found con-med is one of the leading causes of death in the USA.

Pharma has bought off everyone. They are the biggest lobby in DC. They are the biggest advertiser on MSM, about 70%. There is a revolving door with them at the regulators. They control the journals, the Universities, the Medical Schools, and thus the doctors and researchers and the public perception.

RFKjr in 2021 wrote in The Real Anthony Fauci:
“Dr. Fauci’s direct and indirect control—through NIH, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Wellcome Trust of some 57 percent of global biomedical research funding19—guarantees him this sort of obsequious homage from leading medical researchers,…”

Please advocate for adopting India’s approach to medicine. Eliminate the monopoly that con-med has. India has three different medical systems that compete – Homeopathic, Ayurvedic and Conventional. All three have a regulator, medical schools, hospitals, pharmacies, doctors, etc.. Doctors of all three can see patients in any hospital. As a result India gives their patients choice. They can choose if they want medical chemical drugging or not. For ayurvedic we would substitute Functional Medicine/Herbal/Chiropractic/Chinese Med/etc. Competition in medical care like anywhere else makes it more affordable with better accountability.

Time to bring the other medical approaches that were exiled to the desert 100 years ago, back into the tent. But with an independent regulatory regime answerable to themselves and the American people. Not to con-med.

Agreed. Hell is having no choice and not being able to afford insurance. Or even having to pay tax for a medical system that you would only use if you absolutely had to…not as a substitute for a social life like a lot of seniors I know. Little wonder it’s become unaffordable where there is universal healthcare services via taxation or where you need insurance.

If you don’t allow for competing systems of healthcare…..how dare you call yourself a free society? I might not choose to go to a voodoo practitioner for healthcare but I want the choice. I may not choose the do-it-yourself for cash “doctor” next door when I want medical advice but I want the choice to use such services if I’m so inclined. I’m of age. I can make my own decisions. I’m not hurting anybody except potentially myself. So…government…get out of my body bag. You’re not welcome here. Licenced practitioners indeed!

Just wait until people have been herded into 15-min cities (the ones who haven’t already been genocided with the jab, at least) and all your services and residences, and “everything you need” is conveniently located within a 15-min bike ride – including the single Big Ag food outlet and the single Big Pharma allopathic medical clinic to serve everyone!

I think that our early ancestors were so petrified by the prospect of a hard winter that they were prepared to practice many superstitious rituals in order to placate imagined forces, whether dark or otherwise. Agreed that the present Halloween has degraded to a money making exercise with little connection to those early days. Much the same as many aspects of the modern age.

iirc Brave New World had a slogan about adult at work/infant at play….but probably retarded humans are (like retarded wolves) just easier to domesticate and train. Even most criminal humans act more like naughty aggressive dogs then wild human beings.

Culture of Narrcism by Christopher Lasch predicted all this stuff before the internet was even a thing (but that book is a weird PITA to read) and the Unabomber was not wrong when he wrote that most people are never able to do anything satisfying because they must be cogs in the machine we all depend on to live.

Living in society naturally domesticates people but it’s on steroids now because there is so little real environmental feedback…..I think actual environmental feedback is absolutely terrifying to most people who grew up in the 2nd and 3rd network generation.

The culture of narcissism looks like an interesting read. Can you give the Cole’s notes of what you picked up from it?

One thing I have read, and I’m sure I’m on a list somewhere for it, is the Unabomber’s manifesto. That guy was pure genius. His manifesto is like reading prophecy that’s coming true more and more every day. I’m not condoning his methods of fighting back, but he could see clearly what was happening and where it was leading. Increasing tech isn’t leading us anywhere we want to be. Mankind screws up everything good.

I remember when the Internet was fresh and new and the potential was breathtaking. In a relatively short time we’ve managed to screw it up royally. It’s becoming the leash that will confine us eventually. I wish now that I could cancel my sub with my ISP but, when you think about it, there is so much that would make that very, very difficult.

Paying bills
Finding help for projects without a trip to the library (Tech, home renos, car repairs)
Socializing with friends that live a long way away.
Connectivity for business through email, etc.
Many other things that are becoming mandatory to do via the Web.

When you consider all these and more, it seems it’s not possible to live without the Internet today. Of course it is possible and someday we may have to.

Kirm

I can do better- linked is AA’s video (part of his great thinkers series)

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9yOTi6PknR8&pp=0gcJCS4MAYcqIYzv&ra=m

Not gonna lie- I liked Lasches other books and found them easy to read or listen to but THIS one was too hard to ever get thru in one go properly with notes n such…..I know more now so maybe I should give it another try. Any attempt to explain the book by me would be very poor in comparison to the video linked. The GT series has one on Ted K iirc and honestly I should sit down n treat them like lectures with notes because some of these folks I never heard of.

Ted K was pretty smart in his analysis but he never really had an answer for the problem IMO….he was not unique but he had a knack of making things simple to understand……weirdly I kinda think he and CS Lewis are the best authors of the century for making complex ideas understandable. In a way they were both coming at the same issue in Abolition Of Man ,and Industrial society.

regarding living without the web….you don’t need to utterly remove it to get benefits. I recall thinking the economics of the web didn’t make sense and tbh I STILL think they don’t- the web as it is is rather unsustainable and is just living on a few products and investment capital. If we have the same kind of internet as now in 10 years I will be surprised and if in 20 it’s not either gone away of replaced by something way way worse I will be amazed.

You can download podcasts and books and even YT videos and listen to them later on your own device without infinite scroll. IF You get rid of home internet (I did and it’s great) then be sure to have a VPN set up if your at public WiFi when you pay bills or do other private stuff…..You can also set up all your own movies and TV shows on a plex server (or just Kodi
box with a hard drive) and Project Nomad looks kinda cool. (Link below )

and you can download all of Gutenberg and die before you run out of books 🙂

An article about Project Nomad- these days you can run the AI set to jus check your own docs (if you like AI) and the file store looks cool…..you can set it up for free if you have an old computer
https://www.zdnet.com/article/project-nomad-self-contained-offline-linux-distribution/

I’m a little disappointed James didn’t dress up for our Halloween video as, I don’t know, a red devil complete with his horns and fork? Or as a social engineer? Or perhaps even as a voluntaryist?

Well never mind, I’m sure we can find something else to scare ourselves with. How about Flock cameras? I know, it’s become a very unoriginal subject lately but I watched this 35 mn analysis “The Creepy Design of Flock Cameras” posted by an industrial designer and thought it could be of interest for some here.

Now let’s end this brief comment by touching upon the subject of the infantilisation of society. For this, what better than… a cute little emoji? 😉

Thank you so much for sharing the link to Design Theory’s videos. What a talented gentleman! How he can merge design analysis with eradite Truther POV is practically mesmerizing. He sources his factual information well and inspires viewers to make connections that in other contexts would be too threatening to accept. I appreciate you sharing!

After watching a few more of his videos, above should read: Truther POV*…..with the *Powerfully aligned in some ways, but mentions climate change seriously, so seems to be a work-in-progress at this time

Glad you liked it. If I remember well, “How Governments Use Design & Propaganda to Control You” and “How Brands Use Design & Marketing to Control Your Mind” were not bad either.
I’ll use this opportunity to share here a joke I read in the comment section of one of these two videos:

A KGB agent and a CIA agent meet at a bar. The CIA agent says “Your propaganda is incredible. It’s almost believable!”, to which the KGB agent says “No comrade, our propaganda is but a pale shadow compared to yours. Your people actually believe it!” to which the CIA agent replies, aghast, “The United States doesn’t have any propaganda!”

That’s funny.

[winking emoji]

I kind of like Hallowe’en because it reminds me of when I was a kid and when I would go out trick or treating. It also reminds me of when my kids were little and I would accompany them as they walked around my neighbourhood going door to door collecting candy. Fond memories.

I understand that this is just another way for retailers to make money. Like Easter and Christmas and Birthday parties and Retirement parties and well, you name it, any excuse to have a celebration or a party.

And that’s OK. More and more people where I live have opted out. They turn off their porch lights and don’t answer when the kids go to the door, hoping to get a treat.

We had ways of dealing with this when I was about 10 or 11 years old. The occasional egg toss would signify that, “Hey, you’re a party pooper!”

This was uncalled for of course. Nobody should feel obliged to participate by giving out candy to strangely dressed people.

Hallowe’en was also a time to punish the neighbours who were generally mean spirited towards kids.

I’m sure you have heard of the “burning bag of shit” trick. If not, look it up.

So….my message to those who don’t like Hallowe’en? Lighten up. It’s once a year and it’s innocent fun. And it lasts about 2.5 hours between the time the little kids show up with their parents waiting on the sidewalk to the 8:30 pm teenagers looking to score their last few chocolate bars.

No wonder the phenomenon has spread to other countries. It’s a money maker, after all. And when you can sell stuff just because it’s something that happens every year at the same time, you’ve got a guaranteed cash flow for a few days.

Personally I just go along with all of this stuff. I’m not a big fan of extravagant Christmas gifts, obligatory get togethers with family just because it’s Thanksgiving or Christmas or Easter or somebody’s birthday. And when it comes to my own birthday I always ask for something like a letter or a poem or a drawing. Could be simple. Could be stupid. But I don’t need any more stuff. Unless you want to buy me a car. My old one won’t last much longer. But that’s asking a bit much….even for those fond of extravagant gift giving.

But of all the things to be pissed off about, none of these things bother me in the least. Maybe they are primarily marketing tools used to extract what little disposable income we have left.

So is organized sport for chldren. Just a business. Heaven forbid that your kids would go outside, find some other kids and play a game of ball hockey or kick the can. Costs nothing. Generates no revenue. Not popular anymore.

Go figure.

I get pissed about stuff I have no choice but to participate in. Like mandatory vaccines. Like having my Old Age Security clawed back if I make too much money. Like having my Canada Pension taxed as income. Like being asked WHY I want to take $3K in cash out of my own bank account.

“I’m sure you have heard of the “burning bag of shit” trick. If not, look it up.”

Haha, that was a classic. I think the Tragically Hip had a line about it in one of their songs too. Looked it up. Highway Girl.

Although it celebrates evil and darkness, I like Halloween better than Santa Claus, as it does not earnestly promote lies.

You are quite right James. The program/agenda of the controllers to infantilize society is a reality.
Women dress like whory Barbie Girls from so young it is frightening to even look at one in public.

Especially troubling are young men. Instead of what should be the natural evolutionary process of being smart and focused on creating families to carry on bloodlines and investing in property (the original declaration of Life, Liberty, and Property and not ‘happiness’) they dress in athletic gear no matter their size, play computer games like 10 year olds would do and a world of foolish cartoon graphic advertisements are thrown at them from every angle of the digital world.

Also a very real war on young white men is at hand…a bad economy and a job market geared for women and aliens that is closed to them leaving them in a hopeless situation of ever achieving what their dads did in life.
Stuck with women who are lost in the 6×6 search of 6’ tall men with 6 figure incomes.

And of course NONE of this is by accident. It is the take down of White Western Civilization (where EVERYTHING seems to be racist or sexist,) in the process of creating a compliant work force (slaves) to produce wealth and prosperity for the controllers under a 5G track, trace, and data basing. The dilution of the bloodlines with a huge emphasis on queers and interracial relationships push in the advertising and entertainment worlds.

The attack covers a wide spectrum of issue that fall under sovereignty and self-sustainment of our culture. Automobiles with tracking devices including tires!! that are so complex the average man can no longer work on them anymore brought into focus by all the recent auto “junk yard” fires. The fires of food processing plants and false flag must kill animals for this or that reason.

The attack on our true history by all the burning of ancient buildings that tell a quite different story of the evolution of humans. Sold out governments at all levels from local counsels and administrators giving away land and restricting this and that to the lies and criminality of the DC crowd.

There is a very important need for people to fight back by joining with others of like minds or we will loose it all. There was no push back on 9/11, COVID mandates, the endless war mentality of a narcissistic president allowing a stolen land in the Mid East run by thugs and murderers committing genocide to be supported with our tax dollars and on and on.
People keep waiting for someone else to save them. Ain’t gonna happen.

GOTTA REMOVE THE CHAINS (song)

Reverence for the past? No, not because it was once revered – tradition – our history. I take from it what worked, while stressing “why”. Especially lost lessons and warnings that were/are ignored. TAC (Tenth Amendment Center) does that by reading from the written political legacy of the 18th/19th century. The most fundamental concept – “all men (people) are created equal (politically)” was the root of “The American Dream” – the beacon that drew emigrants worldwide, was civilizing, a principle that required/requires defending with words/actions. It requires constant vigilance/action. That didn’t happen. Totalitarianism was the result – at the birth place – and the “1 world disorder”.

voluntaryist
”….take from it what worked, while stressing “why”…..”

”Chestertons fence” comes right to my mind when I read that…..even assuming YOU have a high enough IQ to number crunch every thing like some Technocrat normal humans do not.

Traditional life is the accumulation of WHAT WORKED and only a crazy person thinks they can take a few girders out of a structure and still use it safely……traditional life lasted hundreds or even thousands of years while modernity will be dead within a century

Why hasn’t there been a NWNW lately?

BUMP

JEP was on holiday and then came back to find his computer had melted down.

I’m wondering what Corbett’s opinion on the Ghost month of August? I know it’s a huge deal in Singapore, but I’m wondering if it is celebrated in other parts of Asia, as well?

I think Halloween used to be a different experience in America, 100 years ago, when candy wasn’t as easily accessible as it is today, and it was an actual holiday with rituals and traditions to remember the dead.

Because I live in San Antonio, and am so close to the Mexican border, I’ve noticed that The Day Of The Dead (November 2) is a bigger deal than Halloween, I appreciate the sentimentality of remembering your loved ones and ancestors that have passed on. Halloween has been stripped of anything meaningful beyond its commercial appeal.

I disagree with Corbett about liking Halloween is a sign that we have all been infantilized. You can live a responsible life, wake up everyday and do responsible things, mind overrides your emotions, and still appreciate cute things.
Don’t lump “Disney Adults” in with people who might put up a string of Jack-o-lantern fairy lights on their door because it’s cute, and they want to be whimsical a couple weeks of the year.
Like, just because you might own a few plushies and occasionally use them as pillows, doesn’t make you a “Furry.” You can own a teddy bear AND balance your checkbook. It’s ok. It doesn’t make you a child.

There’s a big difference between indulging childish silliness once in awhile and selling every adult-level service and object with superheroes, muppets, or cartoon characters. James is right. My own sister mounted a stuffed “minion” to the back of her electric bike at 60+ years of age. I still can’t deal with knowing how infantilized she was (and is.)

My sister used to be the classy one in the family- then she hit mid life and got a load of tattoos and …..stuff. Be thankful if your sister is just silly rather then silly AND gross

I think when one is 60+, a person tends to stop caring what other people think.
I’m not a fan of the minions. But if it was her choice to put it on the back of her bike, she made that decision on her own.
It would be more infantilizing if she did not have the autonomy to choose what to put on the back of her bike, and someone who has dominion over her made it a rule that she had to strap a plushy to the back of it.
My theory of why Corbett hates Japanese Halloween is that it’s shallow and probably really annoying.
You know what I intensely dislike in Japanese culture?
Lolita Fashion.
I get the ick.
Lolita Fashion has migrated to the United States and I have to see that if I happen upon a Manga convention in my local mall.
Lolita Fashion is the height of creepy.
…but
these are grown women making the decision to spend thousands of dollars to look like porcelain dolls, so maybe it’s actually social commentary?
Japanese culture wants its citizens to be quiet and respectful of others. Fall in line. Don’t stand out. The nail that stands out gets hammered down.
I don’t live in Japan, but this is my impression of Japanese culture.
They seem to like their women to be perpetually young and compliant. This seems to become a problem on the trains, when society tells them they can’t fight back when a “chikan” (a guy who routinely gropes young women on trains) gropes them on a train. If they were allowed to fight back with violence, maybe this wouldn’t happen as often. Instead, they’re just supposed to ignore it.

Keep in mind that modern Halloween IS a children’s holiday. It’s supposed to be fun…for children.

I thought I recognized Netanyahu on the broomstick, and musk being Frank N. Stein, but would you help me identify the other characters in the thumbnail?

Prince Harry is the guy with the swastika. Not sure who the floozy is.

Thaks,
Maybe the broomstick witch is Epstein.
That floozy looks it has a lot of balls…

hanky,
The blond is Mayor Giuliani. I asked Google Gemini
.

The trans-looking floozy in the Open Thread image thumbnail?…

The face seems fatter in the thumbnail than the Natalie Wynn portrayal here in The New Yorker.
https://www.newyorker.com/culture/persons-of-interest/the-stylish-socialist-who-is-trying-to-save-youtube-from-alt-right-domination
I came upon that Natalie Wynn topic from Corbett’s October Open Thread prelude and his linked article:
Kropotkin, the Cossacks and the Anarchist Ideal
https://slavlandchronicles.substack.com/p/kropotkin-the-cossacks-and-the-anarchist

I just wrote a comment in a neighborhood newsletter. There was an article pushing for more taxes to solve local homelessness. I am going to post it here too, as it dovetails nicely with the topic of infantilization. I have said this before, but forgive me if I bore you.

Throwing taxpayer money at it is silly. Increasing school funding has not made things better. Increasing ‘defense’ spending has not brought peace or made us safer. Huge official budgets have not brought us increased average health outcomes.

Going further, consider this about socialism, in general. It is a a perennial nostalgic favorite, as it mirrors things from our ideal nuclear families. To each according to his ability; to each according to his need. This model actually works where people have so much in common, and love each other to the point that they would gladly lay down their lives to protect each other. (This love includes dealing out, and accepting, proper discipline at times). This model does not scale up to a population of millions of strangers. And now they hate each other and fight over the scraps that government allows. So, most Democrats started out with kind hearts, but became easy prey for hypocritical demagogues who pander to anger and self-righteousness.

I just saw this clip
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrTxwwuCa7o

Is this redundantly bloated, Ai narrated documentary accurate?

I totally agree with you James – even as a kid I didn’t like the dress-up candy nightmare, and now that it has expanded into a giant Satanic psy-op I REALLY despise it. I always wonder about those fleeing to Canada from one of the particular war-torn countries we recently tore up. How do they feel seeing all the bloody skeletons going up on all the lawns in their lovely new country? Yes, Halloween is part of the infantalizing culture but it’s also about promoting war, violence, and Satanic culture.

We need to un-homogenize our lives on the planet, re-instate variety of architecture, marketing areas, travel, clothing, foodstuffs, transport vehicles, medicine farming, people and whatever else! It’s all becoming more and more boringly the same! And variety being the spice of life, oh boy do we need it.

@Suzi
Indeed, But the key here is the agenda of the controllers is at work to create a slave state and prisoners all wear the same clothes don’t they so if you look around you can tell what “tribe” or clan or cell block others come from.

That is what makes the mind numbing TV/Movie/Music state so predictable to eliminate much thinking. You always know who is the banker, mechanic, call girl, teacher, boss, the country singer, the rocker, etc.

From just one of the many agendas working in harmony to take down humanity:

Zbigniew Brzezinski Between Two Ages:
America’s Role in the Technetronic Era (written 50+ years ago)

“People, governments and economies of all nations must serve the needs of multinational banks and corporations.

The technetronic era involves the gradual appearance of a more controlled society. Such a society would be dominated by an elite, unrestrained by traditional values.

Shortly, the public will be unable to reason or think for themselves. They’ll only be able to parrot the information they’ve been given on the previous night’s news.”

Deck the Hallowed Halls of Halloween!
I’m a Halloween Scrooge like you James. 😉

Reading the sub stack and watching the woman’s video (NGL i thought she was AI) I am told two very different things about anarchy- the sub stack was IMO closer to the truth in describing the natural desire of young dudes to ride around like outlaw bikers and do whatever they feel like while the video did not ring as true.

The unintentional point BOTH articles make is that Anarchy as a life style/ system can not stand up to authoritarianism. Putting the morals and such aside the fact is that the video describes a bunch of people who achieve zero goals (and in likelihood were puppeted by the Feds) and end up dead. The article on the Cossacks (which was better IMO) kinda skipped over the part where they get crushed because they can not stand up to power when Technology and Organization is sufficiently powerful.

The Cossacks who resisted the Bolsheviks (and fought for the nazis) got keelhauled back and killed in large numbers after the war. Any freedom they enjoyed was between the cracks of getting killed or victimizing others for their stuff. While certainly Romantic su ch a life is not what most people desire, which is why they go along with the system.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Repatriation_of_Cossacks_after_World_War_II

I certainly like the ideas adjacent to anarchy, but such life styles don’t have much future unless people are actually willing to give up a lot of the safety and creature comforts- anyone here could probably do almost anything they like living in a weak state like South Africa or Some US failed city but how many people are going to want to move there? True plenty of folks talk about Mexico, but being dollar rich softens the downsides of the third world (otherwise 3rd worlders would STAY there wouldn’t they? )

I wish someone would answer these issues for me, in practical terms rather than talk about how we wish the world was. Sure we can live off grid and stay free ourselves if we accept the price but most people are not going to take the trade and they are a massive power plant for the system

When I was a teacher, I found that giving kids a blank page was a much more reliable way to get them to write legibly than to give them the standard two lines with a dotted line through the middle, which they would steadfastly and stubbornly ignore. In Paris, they’ve removed most stop signs and have far fewer accidents and lowered fatality rates. It might be counter-intuitive, but it’s true that when people have to take personal responsibility for their actions, rather than having rules imposed on them from overlords, behavior improves, both socially and individually. Anarchy would not only “stand up to authoritarianism,” it actually would encourage people of any age to step up to the challenge that presents rather than depend on authority figures to erect guardrails which they will either brainlessly adhere to like dumb cattle, or resent and disobey for oppositional thrills. Either way, authoritarian controls are psychologically unhealthy for human beings. People don’t like to be manipulated with carrots and sticks.

I do not doubt that people have issues living modern society BUT those issues are probably NOT from authoritarianism….slaves and peasants and such don’t appear to have had anything like the levels of depression and mental illness we see in folks today.

MOST people in history have lived just fine with some form of authoritarian ruler telling them what to do, I have a hypothesis as to the reason but that’s another conversation.

Thise things you list are nice and all, but they do not address how exactly an anarchic system could keep existing when a non anarchic system wants to absorb or destroy them…..again, how we WISH things worked is not the issue.

Basic competition between systems is part of life- the Soviets fell because they could not compete with western production, China got spanked for a century because they refused to advance – and Japan avoided that (for a while) by adopting superior western tech and social structures. The Islamic world almost crushed Europe, as late as the 1683, but fell behind because of their inferior social system that couldn’t make technical progress.

The South African whites WITH modern tech lost to the mass of the British empire…..so how can a society without that compete?

aside
Funny thing is that when i taught my kids cursive the triple
lined paperwork worked super well….the first time I did it was an error because I made the kid write too much while the others all took to it very naturally thanks to
a) teaching each letter discretely and focusing upon getting it right coupled with teaching proper posture (“make a structure of bones so your muscles don’t work so hard”)
b) daily drills
c) plenty of upper body work (hand walking and pull ups) from an early age. They all read fluently by four or five and could write cursive fluently by 8 to 10

I know that a modern school cat do that amount of work but in my experience teaching the basics very well is the winner

The Zomia video was very good- it goes into how the best defense against state coercion is to be poor and live in a dump no one wants to bother taking over. this worked well for the Borderers (#Albuons seed) like the Scot’s Irish in the US for a long time (not forever)

This reiterates what I have long suspected and the real issue is that we have gotten addicted to modern comforts and the best way to control people is via pleasure – I guess we will see how that works out as the economy worsens, though we would have to get much much much poorer before people will actually need to worry about starvation…..I liked how he went into the issue modern tech causes for this strategy, trains and roads serving as a path for control. I think this analogy holds true for modern tech (he talks on how we are actually less free thanks to net tracking) which serves as a leash AND lure.

I also like how the folks “escaped the matrix “ the often “rebuilt the matrix” on a smaller scale….as I have said Anarchy is at best a transitional state, though you could argue ALL states are transitional (is a chicken a thing an egg makes to reproduce eggs or the other way??? lol)

Very good video, and I see an analogy of the southern wall and the crack down on van life and other ways of low cost living. This part of the civilization cycle is getting towards the looting stage which does not bode well for the west’s productivity or technological advancement….OTOH if they can lock the world into one system the (like china) they need not fear competition for centuries of slow rot until something kicks the edifice over.

But as CS Lewis (and I think Mr Corbett) has pointed out with modern tech there is a possibility of locking in a system for a long time (“until the moon falls”) but not imo forever. NOthing people make is forever

Hi James,

I would be interested in a delve into the infantilisation of adults and children growing up. I refer to it as the Disneyfication of people who use their real, or imaged, childhood to escape to when they are stressed or afraid.

I imagine it would have relation to the taming of humans, which I believe has been happening for many generations over the millennia.

It is not just the men folk, although I find a growing number of men in the UK act like young children, talking about fantasy more than reality, being selfish, and shunning very basic responsibilities. The teenagers I know are more adult.

Yesterday I saw a group of of women wearing clothes covered in teddy bear heads, childish drawings, all from the same brand, it was not the first time. As a woman it is disturbing to see the adultification of young girls with provocative adult clothes, and even more disturbing to see adult women in childish clothes given they have the choice to wear what they want. They also tend to be self obsessed, constantly taking solo selfies, and it seems that teenagers today are shunning this sad behaviour.

This has serious paedophile vibes that make you shudder. The way they held their bodies and acted was also child-like and I cannot imagine them being independent or useful – but should I take their garb so seriously?

As a Brit we loved Mischief Night more than Halloween. With light hearted mischief we would target the overly authoritarian types and bring them down a peg or two. For Halloween we made our costumes and we would only call at neighbours houses we knew, it was entertaining for them and us, and we got a modest amount of sweets. Now it seems to be about adults dressed as sexualised cats. As with many things its about how you do it.

Any predictions on possible October surprise for this year before US elections?

Maybe the Ruski flu (grypa) or whatever the msm will declare it as

It would be great to have John Mauriello on the show as a guest, talking about design. Very related to the elitist and increasingly rigged market and why so much of design is awful.

Anyone have thoughts on the Movie Digger?
Just watched it. It had climate change messaging, plot twists, cool production, AI surveillance messaging, dystopian future messaging.

TITUS: “This is Jaylen. That’s his company Minnesota Implement. So, let’s hear what he has to say about his costs…”
JAYLEN: “Just shipped a unit two weeks ago to Wisconsin. And that unit cost me $277 to ship for a 500 lb pallet. I just went to ship a unit to that same address and it came back at $520.
Cost of steel last week for a piece of 2X2 box tube that I was paying $122 for 3 weeks ago, now came in at $177.
If I raise my prices to reflect this 40% surge, it means that my $4,000 plow is going to have to go up somewhere in the $5 to $7,000 range.
The import companies like Titan and others are not raising their prices.
I don’t know how.
I have no clue how they’re shipping product for free.
I have no clue how they are able to weather this without taking this impact.”

Hi James,
I want to say thank you for the Solutions Watch series that included Cal Washington and InPowerMovement.org. I just joined and am slowly unpacking what InPower is doing… and how I am going to create a system that can competently generate Notices of Liability with InPower’s guidance.

Six months ago I decided to immerse myself in the alt-legal/jurisdiction world. I began by establishing an un-incorporated Ministry (508)(c)(3) instead of the standard US 501 Non-Profits that are attacked by the IRS today. A Ministry can receive donations for it’s products and services and does not report to the IRS in any way.

Then I decided to administratively re-classify myself, and restore my American National/Private Citizen status, like so many of the very wealthy have done, and US government employees are doing today.

I am using the administrative US Passport application process. My goal with this is to move myself into a Pro Per status in any courtroom, and I will stop being traded (along with my assets), on the NYSE as a securitized surety/collateral for the corporation the USA, Inc. [See: The DC Organic Act of 1871. It’s right in the beginning].

I did not do this independently. I hired the EmbassiesofLight.org staff to facilitate, because what they call the “Freedom Passport” must be fully understood in case the holder is challenged. And it takes some historical deprogramming via learning some incredibly basic historical facts that our Tavistock US Public School programming carefully left out since 1933.

The Path Towards Restoration

The Embassy of Light’s Freedom Passport process/learning has helped me fully understand what Cal Washington is talking about when he says that governments are just an overlay:

The real power to fight back against the real people who are behind this Omniwar / Great Culling that we are enduring… resides in the monetary / legal system. We can skirmish with the political processes everywhere in the world until we are blue in the face. And we can make gains in the short-term. But to really change the inversionists grand plan for global governance by themselves only, over a select 1Billion transhumanist cyborgs…,

We need to unwind their controlling monetary system into something that works for everyone, and jail those who orchestrated this democidal nightmare. I believe as Mr. Washington does, that this can be done through the legal process using Law Merchant Jurisdiction supported by benevolent spirituality.

What going on in the legal world.?

If this magazine cared about it’s readers comments it would have a mechanism to index the comments for continuity of thought. POSIWID. More work for the editor, a thankless job, exposing his creations, art or news, to critical analysis of the disdained dullards, i.e. subscribers. Now that you mention infantilization, James, I’ve marveled over that myself lately. I’m interested in holistic health. Personally, I’d never choose chemotherapy to fight cancer when there are dozens of healthier ways to actually cure it. (For those who do, fine with me.)
One thing that’s always amazed me is how a grown human can go through that torture and then be so excited to “ring the bell” at the end of treatment. Really?? I watched a friend’s husband, a former naval officer, do just that. He died within a year. I had the same type of cancer and I’m still kicking…knock on wood!

Viral Dallas Halloween decoration house gets political

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLeV6zx1TX4
A house in Preston Hollow that has become famous for its Halloween decorations is making a political statement with this year’s decor.

Preston Hollow is a relatively large and very affluent neighborhood about 6 miles north of downtown Dallas. It roughly covers the area north of Northwest Highway expanding east and west of Preston Road. Residents and home ownership’s include: George W. and Laura Bush, Mark Cuban, H. Ross Perot Sr. & Family, Harlan Crow, Andy Beal, Kelcy Warren, the Mary Kay Mansion, Kenny & Lisa Troutt, Randall & Lenise Stephenson, T. Boone Pickens, and various sports celebrities such as Lee & Claudia Trevino, Roger & Marianne Staubach, Dirk Nowitzki, and Jordan Spieth.

Notice the signs in the FOX news clip which say “Recall Gay Willis.”
Gay Donnell Willis is a devious Wicked Witch who wants to see little children’s brains boiled in the cauldron.
Dallas City Councilperson Gay Willis was once a former marketing arm for Johnson and Johnson.
On Tuesday Nov 07, 2023, a Dallas City Council Committee was finally slated to hear from three professionals about water FLUORIDATION.
The world famous scientist Professor Bruce Lanphear, the activist Dentist Dr. Griffin Cole and the local medical Dr. John Staniland were slated to give presentations about the harmful effects of water fluoridation.
Councilperson Gay Donnell Willis knowingly lied and created an angry dramatized outburst while fabricating sources and quotes in order to shut down the dialogue. It did. Her loud drama shut down any chance of open minds on the Committee. Willis preplanned it. We know it was preplanned by what she was reading and misquoting.

In the end, a couple ladies and I wrote-up some facts about Water Fluoridation for the final report by Dallas Water Utilities. We had Dr. Staniland send it.

Opposing Water Fluoridation starts on page 60 of the pdf.

Homie,
I made some odd connections to my Rural Water District. Natural Hydrogen Fluoride as a discharge from the coal fired generation station just up wind from the intake for the water.
110,000 pounds in 2008.

  • The District 6 office told me they don’t add any Fluoride to our water. However the discharge from PSO Plant is so high they don’t need to. Next time I talk to them I must ask why they don’t take it out of the water what is all ready there. . Semantics and tom foolery context. Liers and deceivers.
  • https://fluoridealert.org/researchers/states/oklahoma/

It is extremely difficult to take fluoride out of the water. The costs are prohibitive. Fluoride filtering requires distillation or reverse osmosis.

Coal has all kinds of contaminants. In fact, the reason that you see the “mercury content in fish warnings” around the globe is typically because of coal emissions.

Halloween has invaded Australia. When it started, I valiantly attempted to hold back the tide of Americanism sweeping over our shores by responding ‘trick’ to the trick-or-treating kids. They just stared at me blankly. I asked them if they had any idea what Halloween actually was. More blank stares. Then I asked the parents, hovering in the background, if they were happy with Australia becoming the 51st state. Then they all started to back away nervously. Bah, humbug! But still they came, the next year. So I got one of those doorbells that sounds like a particularly savage dog barking. That fixed the problem. Now I live in a rural area that’s too far for even the most sugar-addicted of the little blighters to bother walking to, on Halloween night.

For a person who hates Halloween, you sure gave this trick-or-treater some tasty surprises to read, watch and hear.

Saudi-Gulf Regional Oil is moving again near pre-war levels…

Mon Oct 5, 2026 – Alex Kimani
Standard Chartered Says Hormuz Oil Flows Are Far From Normal
https://oilprice.com/Energy/Crude-Oil/Standard-Chartered-Says-Hormuz-Oil-Flows-Are-Far-From-Normal.html
EXCERPTS
…Oil flows through the Middle East have staged an impressive rebound, with export volumes recovering to near pre-war levels even as traffic through the Strait of Hormuz remains well below normal.
Standard Chartered estimates crude and condensate exports from the Gulf, excluding Iran and including bypass routes such as Fujairah and the Red Sea, reached roughly 16.5 million barrels per day (bpd) in September, broadly back to pre-war volumes. But only 60% of those barrels crossed the Strait of Hormuz, compared with 83% before the war.
Standard Chartered says the numbers show resilience rather than normalization: exporters have found ways to move the oil, but they are doing it less efficiently and at considerably higher cost.

The system has been forced to use more complex workarounds, particularly a vessel-intensive chain of ship-to-ship (STS) transfers. Shuttle tankers are increasingly moving crude through Hormuz before transferring it to larger vessels in the Gulf of Oman, while exporters are also making greater use of pipelines and ports that bypass the strait…

…The workarounds are also expensive, with reports of discounts of up to $9 per barrel on cargoes loaded offshore Oman to compensate for the added logistical costs.

The recovery in physical flows has reduced the probability of the most extreme shortage scenarios and should gradually remove some of the scarcity premium in oil prices. But those barrels are moving at higher cost, with longer voyage times, heavier use of tankers and less spare capacity in the logistics system.
Standard Chartered says the improvement is bearish compared with a market pricing a prolonged physical supply loss, but does not justify a return to pre-war risk premiums. Exporters have shown they can move far more crude than many expected, but the system has less room to absorb another major disruption….

Have been reading about Japan cracking down on foreign nationals. Wonder if this is affecting you at all. This article suggests you can lose permanent residence for failing to carry your ID card which sounds pretty draconian. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2026/10/01/japan/permanent-residency-guidelines-revision/

I had read something about it. I’m curious about it possibly affecting James also.

Meowking and Homie,

While one is In Japan, I was told by a cultural attache’ editor of the Oil and Gas Journal, all aliens are in the country at the pleasure of the Authorities. Cultural purity is very important to the powers that be there. They don’t clown around. 98.45% of the country’s 127.7 million inhabitants are Japanese
It’s nice lip service Yamashita pays to the western press but Japan is a racist culture.
Takaichi’s justice minister, Takashi Yamashita, spoke about the need to ensure a peaceful coexistence between foreign nationals and Japanese citizens.
We must not allow a situation in which foreign residents who follow the rules find Japan increasingly difficult to live in,” Yamashita said. How nice.

EXCERPTS
More American’s are losing the keys to their houses.
Foreclosures are climbing across the US, with the number of homes repossessed by lenders surging 42% from a year ago as more struggling homeowners reach the end of the foreclosure process.
Lenders repossessed 5,794 properties through completed foreclosures in August, up 22% from July and a 42% from August 2025, according to a new report from real estate data firm ATTOM.

Overall, 40,277 US properties received some form of foreclosure filing — including default notices, scheduled auctions and bank repossessions — during the month. That was up just 1% from July but 13% from a year earlier, continuing a months-long trend of foreclosure activity running above 2025 levels.

Florida recorded the largest number of foreclosure starts, at 3,189, followed closely by Texas with 3,126 and California with 2,565. Illinois and Georgia rounded out the top five….

some pod casts ago, zyxzevn replied to my questions about statements from his/her comment,, I have some time now so will attempt a reply to the longish reply I’d received.

67, if you’re reading this, heres the original thread:

“groups of spirits can influence people enormously”
v:
How does that work?
Without a living person, the astral space “is just dead”
Not too sure how a mortal can make that claim?
to capture the irrationality by playing with it.
is another technique of arguing by nonargument,. its not just scorned women that wield conviction with zero context or logical, meaningful content. Thats what spawned the relativism that pushed gender dysphoria. The relativist would claim that north is where you feel it to be..

1- For simplicity I use the ancient yogi model of consciousness.
The consciousness that we experience is in a network of nadis (“prana” channels).
These nadis connect your consciousness to your body in a web-like network.
It is like a body for our soul.
We can see some of this network on cellular level. And it is self-regulating.
Our active consciousness experiences a focus, an identity, an experience,
by activating these nadis. So we can experience life.
Spirits are like bits of consciousness that are split off from the soul.
Usually via serious trauma.
They are disconnected from a body.
But these bits are still able to connect to the nadis of a living body.
And via the nadis they can influence living people.
These spirits can give thoughts and all kinds of feelings.
They usually connect with people that resonate with their previous life.
Depression and anxiety are common side-effects.
Excessive thinking, anger issues, etc.
As a child we are often exposed to these.
With more spirits around, it is harder to stay with yourself.
And our education system and religions makes us surrender to their influence.

2- I distinguish spirit spaces from other spaces of consciousness.
That is why I state, the astral space is empty and “dead”.
The astral space (as I define it) is the place of spirits and human distraction.
But there are other spaces, like “heaven” that
are alive and connected to light and source.
During Near Death Experiences (NDE) people can experience these places.
The ancient humans have built astral spaces to create their own “heavens”.
They tried to make it feel alive. by putting nature into it.
They captured the natural energies with suicide (and many other sacrifices),
some historians have reported about it.
Animal sacrifices are still very common.
The astral space can feel like heaven to some people, but is captured nature.
But like a sect, the astral pulls you in and it hides your soul-identity.
Some astral spaces are accessed via drugs or via violence.
Some spirits are more aware than others and can interact with people
visiting these astral spaces.
This is how shaman-traditions used to communicate with their fore-fathers.
This is unlike nature, where you can experience yourself alive with beauty
and peace around you.
So in my experience this is closer to a real heaven than any church.

been lucidly out of body in our 3d realms and other, plenty, but not to the extent that I would start to explain the logistics as you do.

3- Indeed. Irrationality is a tool of manipulation.
The covid scam was filled with irrational statements.
“It is not a genetic experiment when we approve it”
Logic and consistency is very important for keeping a clear mind.
And while I explore very vague topics, like consciousness, spirits and such,
I try to research it logically.
Because I can feel chi/prana via my hands,
I can also observe most of the things I write about.
Yet, many spiritual schools have embraced the relativism, by claiming
it is your own creation.
As if we all live in our own dream-world.
Which is very close to how the lost spirits may see their world.

Indeed, I see the lost, trundling about, sometimes its just a self-reflection sometimes its what used to be people that have been zombied, symptoms of toxins in the system.

anyone that “embraces reletivism” has been zombied. its a circular logic that mine as well be a skipping record.

happy for you that youve got the sensitivity to feel chi concentrating/flowing. I use that to offer reiki.

“those arent my thoughts, nor were they yours”, is yogic high ground. doable but in my experience, not something that can be orbited/explained.

I think we’re broaching subjects that need more space and a different kind of space, like sitting round a fire rather than cozying up to this blue screen.

“those arent my thoughts, nor were they yours”, is yogic high ground. doable but in my experience, not something that can be orbited/explained.

Thoughts do not exist in “the mind”.

Let me explain a simplified yogi view of the mental world.

The nadis in the aura work a bit like a neural network.
But they are active instead of passive. They react to attention/focus.
And they are variable in strength.
They help to translate “the mind” of the “soul” to the body and back.
They seem to use frequencies for that conversion.

This is a continuous flow.
So that the soul experiences life in the physical world.
Even rain can be experienced in a state of bliss.
This flow can give some great ideas,
which crystallize slowly in your mind.

By focusing on a certain connection, one can experience “thinking”.
But excessive thinking also blocks the flow.
This blocking of the flow is taught at schools.
And it is regarded as “smart” to be able to repeat stuff mindlessly.

“Lost spirits” can interfere with these connections and
they can give involuntary thoughts as well as excessive emotions.
But people are so used to it, that this has become the normal.

“lost spirits” in this context are bits of consciousness that
separated (partially) from the soul.
Usually due to trauma.
They live in their own dreamworlds, but can enter similar astral spaces.
So over time there can grow huge groups of spirits that gives a certain
astral space strength.
Which creates things like sects.
And they create thought patterns mixed with emotional patterns.

Which creates beliefs, strong skepticism, addictions, depression,
violence, wars.
Anything that pulls you away from life and nature.

This is oversimplified, but gives a good idea of how a (grounded) yogi would see this world. Or someone who had NDE.

Sadly a lot of yogis are also in sects, so they often regard certain astral spaces as beneficial. They tend to do religious rituals, deny the self or even life.

~~~  Fort Spunky – Peace through a Monetary System  ~~~
[A short story rendition omitting a much more complicated narrative.]
An hour’s drive southwest of Fort Worth once stood Fort Spunky. Actually, it wasn’t a fort at all. Fort Spunky was one trading post of a string of trading posts spreading south along the Indian frontier.  It was nestled by a spring, established Indian trails and a settlement of agricultural Indians. Fort Spunky had a reputation for occasional fistfights, and thus its name.
TIMELINE: Alamo 1836 | Republic of Texas 1836-1845 | The State of Texas 1845 |
Texas joins Confederacy 1861
— Sam Houston —
Hero for Texas independence from Mexico, Sam Houston became the Republic’s first President. He later served Texas in a variety of political positions.
At age 15, he ran away from the family farm in Tennessee and went to live with the nearby Cherokee Indians for three years. Chief John Jolly (Oolooteka) adopted Sam Houston as his son. John Jolly also had a very successful trading post on an island in Tennessee. By 1829, John Jolly and the Cherokee Nation had moved to an area of Oklahoma east and southeast about an hour’s drive from Tulsa. That year Sam Houston again went to live with the Cherokee.  From 1829 to 1832 Sam Houston operated a trading post in the area.
In December 1832, Sam Houston made his home in the far east Texas town of Nacogdoches and setup his law practice. Historically, Nacogdoches had served as a trading depot along the Indian trails of the Alabama–Coushatta Tribe. The tribe assisted Sam Houston during the Texas revolution against Mexico.
— Cooperative Trade with Communities – Torrey Trading Houses —
Sam Houston contended that military aggression and unfairness was not a wise method of making peace with the Indians on the western Texas frontier.
Part of Houston’s peace policy included trading posts as a civilizing cultural interchange.
John F. Torrey and his brothers (Torrey Trading Houses) established a network of trading posts north and south along the frontier (1838-1848).
Childhood friend and “employee/partner/ex-Mexican prisoner” George Barnard bought the chain in 1848. He sold it off in 1857 and 1859.
George Barnard founded Fort Spunky.
At the trading post down near Waco (Tehuacana), George’s younger brother Charles traded $300 in horses and merchandise for the Comanche captive Juana Cavasos. Juana and Charles Barnard later married. They established a mill, the first building at the site of present-day Glen Rose. The original Fort Spunky was located about 10 miles northeast of Glen Rose.
(to be continued)
(continuing #2 of 3)
— MONEY —
The constitution of the Republic of Texas declared that gold and silver coins would be legal tender. But the Republic never minted any. The Republic’s Congress made several attempts at issuing paper money and fiat currency or promissory notes bearing 10 per cent interest. These attempts failed miserably.
— Torrey Trading Houses – A MONETARY SYSTEM  —
It has been said that the Torrey Trading posts were “perhaps the first regional bank in the United States.”
“The Torreys had an unusual banking and credit system.”
“The post traded goods to the Indians and, for a price, recovered stolen horses, runaway slaves, and captured Mexicans from the Indians. Indians frequently” gathered nearby.
At the Texas coast, the Torreys would ship fur pelts to New York and Boston while bringing in goods from the same northeastern ports. From the Texas coast, the goods would be delivered to the individual Trading Posts.
The Waco, Texas area trading post (Tehuacana) served as a major hub for that region of Texas. It was a clearinghouse for the notes of rangers and Indians.
The trading company sometimes paid advances to Indians for deerskins. Six shaved deerskins would equal one Torrey dollar in debt which could be paid off at another trading post. This example among others were a novel approach to entice people into marrying the Torrey Trading financial system.  Abusers would be turned away from being able to trade.
I would argue that humans strongly desire to trade goods and ideas with each other. There is something uniting about that commonality.
Ending Note:
As we all know, “History is told by the teller” with its corollary being “Texans tell tales.”
You’ve been warned.
Homie ,
This was some enjoyable reading. Thank you for digging up the past. How hard was living for those pioneers? Extraordinarily hard. Death was a constant companion to life. At least a 60-40 proposition day to day.
~~ FAKE TV and FILM portrayals of Frontier Indians and Settlers ~~
I would love to see a film portray some of the harsh realities of the Davy Crockett era.
We know that Indian tribes fought with each other all the time, if only to rob and steal. And tribes had their own internal social problems. …like the Cherokee sometimes killing a tribal member for being a witch.
Cherokee Chief John Jolly disabused me of those 1950’s TV western concepts of Indians. A white man described his house as “one of the largest…finest homes in the south.” John Jolly had a large plantation with about 500 head of cattle. He’d butcher one every week of the year. He owned 10 or 12 negro slaves.
John Jolly was not the only Cherokee plantation owner. There were other plantations. Corn and cotton were grown by Negro slaves under the watchful eyes of overseers.  Several Cherokees owned more than a hundred slaves. For every 10 Cherokee Indians there was one slave. Silk coats and fine glass from Europe was not uncommon for plantation owners.
Different Indian tribes had different attitudes about Negro slaves. Captured Negro slaves made for good trading commodities.
Some tribes like the Choctaws and Chickasaws supported the Confederacy. Following the Civil War, they resented the Negro slave.  It was a ‘tough go’ for the freed slaves, Indians or not.
In the Autumn of 1862, Sam Houston gathered his family and 12 slaves. He read Lincoln’s ‘Emancipation Proclamation’ and told them they are free.  He offered them wages if they wanted to stay. Most did, including Joshua.
X-ray Shoe Fitter
The two young boys on the trampoline brought to mind my younger brother and me when we were kids. Cotton-tops and all, we looked very much like the boys in the video.
At about the same age as the kids in the video, our mother took us to a shoe store in downtown Odessa, Texas. In those days, almost all retail shops were located downtown. Buster Brown shoes would be advertised on the black-n-white TV during the Saturday morning kid shows. We asked Mom for them, but never got any.
While our Mom was talking with the shoe clerk, with my brother in tow I went over to the big, dark-stained X-ray Shoe Fitter.
I shimmied up the box resting on my elbows at the viewer, but my feet were dangling in the air below. My foot would not reach into the fitting hole of the X-ray area. I called for my brother to put his foot into the hole. He did. Then I held down the button. A loud buzzing noise filled the shop as I saw the X-ray image of my brother’s foot. My hand briefly left the buzzer as I started to slide down, but I quickly reset my elbows and punched that button again holding it down for as long as I could.
Mom raced over and chided us boys, telling us to go sit down. In those days, you did what Mom said.
~~~ Suicided Epstein Associates and Whistleblowers ~~~
“I am the British whistleblower who reported evidence concerning Howard Lutnick, his links to Jeffrey Epstein, and Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC to the FBI in 2020–21.
Listen to the BBC…documentary about my whistleblower story….” — Simon Andriesz
— ZeroHedge EXCERPT —
“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Simon Andriesz, a valued member of our community, passed away last week,” Agathangelou said in a statement obtained by The Banker, which reports that he died by suicide.

In his article/video “9/11 Was an Epstein Job?”, Luke Marshall writes:
“The current United States Secretary of Commerce, Howard Lutnick, used to be a neighbor of Epstein. Coincidentally, the two had homes on 9 and 11 E 71st St in New York City.”
[[You should look at the Google Map street view of their places right next to each other. It is eye-opening, along with Luke’s descriptions of their ownership/rent arrangements.]]

British Banking Whistleblower Who Exposed Lutnick’s Epstein Ties Dies; Ruled Suicide
https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/british-banking-whistleblower-who-exposed-lutnicks-epstein-ties-dies-ruled-suicide
EXCERPTS
…Andriesz’s death follows those of several figures tied to the Epstein case in recent years.

French modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel, a longtime Epstein associate accused of supplying girls to the financier, was found dead in his Paris jail cell in 2022, with authorities later concluding that he died by suicide.
Steven Hoffenberg, Epstein’s former boss and mentor at Towers Financial, was found dead in his Connecticut apartment later that year, with an autopsy showing no signs of trauma.

More recently, French modeling agent Daniel Siad, who corresponded extensively with Epstein and introduced young women and teenage girls to him, was found dead at his home outside Paris in July 2026. French prosecutors said an autopsy found no signs of violence, while the exact cause of death remained under investigation. There is no evidence establishing that these deaths are connected.

For those looking for a fun nutrient dense (medicinal grade) Halloween Recipe

Fiery Mushroom and Chickpea Pozole with Chaga infused broth, panfried Forbidden Black Rice and Hopi Red Amaranth seeds
https://gavinmounsey.substack.com/p/mushroom-and-chickpea-pozole

I made this recipe in anticipation of the season when some people put out pumpkins and do trick or treat and others create ceremonies and food to honor their passed loved ones.

Pozole is a traditional hominy and chili pepper stew commonly served in Mexico and neighboring central American countries during Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) to honor and comfort visiting kindred spirits.

——

Some spooky ancient history behind the recipe above:

The first origins of pozole dates back to one of the more imperialistic and violent pre-Hispanic civilizations of Mexico, the Nahuatl speaking people of Tenochtitlan.

The Nahuatl word “pozolli,” which means “foamy” or “boiled,” is the entomological root of the name “pozole”, referring to the alkalized corn that cooks until it bursts. This dish was part of gruesome ceremonies and some historians say that the people of the Triple Alliance (aka “Aztecs”) originally made it with human flesh (sometimes human hearts and legs!) extracted through ritual sacrifices!

Other historians argue that European “explorers” (really thugs and bandits looking to steal land, military officers and modern historians grossly exaggerated (and continue to exxagerate) the instances of human sacrifices and cannibalism in Aztec culture as a way to demonize indigenous people and justify their own barbarism (and promoting what I call The Noble White Christian Nationalist Myth) to make excuses for europeans engaging in genocide and theft in the “Americas”.
Well, whether the stories of cannibalism and widespread human sacrifice are true or not, it certainly adds a spooky Halloween flare to the origin story of this dish.

Enjoy!

I am the one that we’ve been waiting for.

“I’m still in shock…
Male cows lactating has to shock you. If that doesn’t shock us, what is going to shock us?

This is why I know almost every revolution that’s ever happened was manipulated.
We rise up for one thing and the Epstein files come out and we don’t rise up. We rise up for these cultural battles, but cross-sex hormones in cows at such high levels that it’s transitioning the steers to do female things doesn’t shock you?
Honestly, it has to shock you.
We actually can’t be a society of people that says “nothing shocks me anymore”, because what will we rise up for?“

“…I need all of us to be moved to rise up.
And it doesn’t, like I said, need to be picketing in the streets.
It’s voting with our dollars every single day.
Every single day, we get to say what we’re committed to.
Every single day, we have to make adjustments…”

“…But we want that line in the sand.
We want everything to be clean and clear.
And it’s not.
Everything has nuance.
Nothing is black and white.
And we have to constantly adjust.
And we have to constantly vote with our dollars to shift the world in a different direction.
And it’s not easy.
And I’m sorry that it’s not easy.
I want it to be easy, but I need your help.
I need everybody’s help to amplify this message.
Pushing male cows hormonally to the fact that they are lactating is not okay….”

***** 5 STAR Article *****

Tuesday October 13, 2026 – By Robert Rapier at OilPrice.com
Why Diesel Prices Are So Much Higher Than Gasoline
[Read the article for full context.]
https://oilprice.com/Energy/Energy-General/Why-Diesel-Prices-Are-So-Much-Higher-Than-Gasoline.html
There was a time when diesel fuel was usually cheaper than gasoline in the United States. That relationship began to change about 20 years ago, and since then diesel has generally traded at a premium. Today, that premium is not just persistent but unusually large, which raises an obvious question: how did we get from gasoline typically costing more than diesel to diesel costing substantially more than gasoline?
The answer has two parts….

~~~ Read this…
Robert Rapier (a chemical engineer) links to his Nov 28, 2023 article at Forbes.
The Forbes article has a CHART of price comparisons; i.e. Gasoline/Diesel Differential 1995 to 2023
The article also talks about the sulfur content of diesel.
Why Diesel Usually Costs More Than Gasoline
https://www.forbes.com/sites/rrapier/2023/11/28/why-diesel-usually-costs-more-than-gasoline/
————————————————————————————-
Sulfur in diesel fuel burns to form sulfur dioxide (SO2) gas, which reacts with atmospheric water vapor, oxygen, and oxidants to produce sulfuric acid (H2SO4), a primary driver of acid rain. –ScienceDirect
The most notable effects of Acid Rain occur on marble and limestone, which are common building materials found in many historic structures, monuments, and gravestones. — Britannica
— Aluminum and Acid Rain and Aquatic Life —
On the earth’s crust, aluminum ranks as the 3rd most abundant element overall (after oxygen and silicon).
Soil mineral particles are divided into three main size classes based on their diameter: clay, silt and sand. Clay is the smallest particle size. Most clays are made up of aluminum and silica.
Acid rain tends to leach out the aluminum in the soil and the runoff enters the waterways.
The leached aluminum in the waterways becomes highly toxic to aquatic wildlife (fish suffocate.)
Corbett Members might recall Professor Christopher Exley and his research on aluminum. Remember?…his early research involved working with fish. With fish he noticed that silica-rich water helped to mitigate the aluminum toxicity issue. Thus, silicon-rich mineral waters may be a simple therapy for the removal of aluminum from the human body. Exley also studied the brains of deceased children with autism. They had very high levels of aluminum.
RE: I Hate Halloween – Subscriber Exclusive #144 Video
If you have ever been in a Hobby Lobby store, they offer a lot of merchandise which is not found in other stores. It has some cool hobby stuff. Hobby Lobby has almost 1100 stores with the highest number in Texas (121 stores.)
Hobby Lobby is always closed on Sundays.
Hobby Lobby does not carry Hanukkah merchandise in its stores, except for a few select markets.
“…the founder, David Greene, said that he turned away more than $22 million in Halloween merchandise sales because of his religious beliefs. …Greene says he felt God was calling him to stop selling the decorations. And his decision is now drawing support…
…there is not one Halloween item on the shelves.
Instead, you will find all fall themed items like pumpkins, scarecrows, and leaves in the Hobby Lobby.
Founder, 84 year old David Green, says Halloween has become a dark holiday and a celebration of death that’s not honoring God. …Too many items feature blood and gore, and Halloween is not the only holiday that’s been dropped in the past few years….”
