Well, that didn’t take long. No sooner had the metaphorical ink dried on my New World Next Year prediction that 2026 would be the “Year of the Storm” than the storm in fact began.
Specifically, it began in the form of a spectacular overnight raid on January 2, 2026, that resulted in the successful abduction of former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
And now, all hell’s broken loose.
But don’t take it from me. Take it from German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier (better known to non-Germans as “who the hell is that guy?”). Remarking on the spectacular events of the past week, he has opined that Trump and the US are now destroying the very post-WWII world order that the US helped create.
Hmm. If I didn’t know better, I’d say a New World Order is in the offing. Now who could have possibly predicted that?
So, what the hell does all this really mean? Good question. Let’s answer it, shall we?

In 1968, having made a bee-line to Haight-Asbury, ground zero of the culture shift, I immediately learned that the whole thing was more of a dystopia than a Nirvana paradise. Something was REALLY off, compared to the story we were fed. But I didn’t have the gravitas and the experience to act on my misgivings until the imminent birth of our first child in ’74. I wanted so badly to believe in the romanticizing and mystification of the drug culture. (I did completely avoid being taken in by the political left that was trying to take over then). On the University campuses, this destructive paradigm was mostly pushed by fellow students, though the indirect direction of Government and Media became apparent, especially in hindsight.
The prevailing sentiment was that drug use would not only straighten out all of your anxieties and misconceptions about life, but make you a superior and more spiritual being. The idea of ‘take a pill for every ill’ still bedevils our society.
All this too say, our current situation of moral decline and scams is directly traceable to that first great ‘youth revolution’ in my own life, without need for scholarly study. It has been going on for many decades and has strong deep roots. Of course you can choose any starting point to make an analysis, but the mid 60’s is a perfect, viable starting point for many essays.

Yes, there were both. The duped hippies, me included, were very much mostly very earnest. The drug dealers and the politicos were not all true ‘flower children,’ but the scamming that I find relevant is what was done by the media and the government. There are strong parallels to what we have today. They pushed the drug culture and romanticized it. Their selective enabling and enforcement and prosecution completely exposed them (the gov) but we were too lost and habituated to drug rituals to see it.

Well, the omniwar (a David A. Hughes term) is certainly unfolding. I am EMF/RF/chemical sensitive, For Sure… THEY have been putting up cell towers everywhere without consent or care for human beings.
The constant chemtrails over my house make it so I don’t want to go outside much (though I love and live for nature). I’ve been all over world-wise, and moving to another place isn’t an option or wouldn’t be different in the long run.

Within hours of learning of his antics in Venezuela I started to project as you did, about which countries will be next in his crosshairs.

Very basic, but very important.
I listen to Alan Watts when I’m in a certain mood and choose a topic which resonates with my state of being.
Of course I keep following some news sources, but very limited. James Corbett, Martin Armstrong and Martin Vrijland. That’s it.
More off line, more real time.
Time’s moving fast. Faster it seems.
I believe we are as prepared as we can be, and if not, so be it.
I trust in the creativity of people, and my own.

During Covid era not wearing masks while doing groceries, I’ve learned to wear my “invisible serene cloak” to stay serene, friendly.

Both ways. When I’m grumpy and I cross a serene friendly face, my coldness melts. My mood changes in an instant.
So my invisible developed covid cloak has taught me to be in peace with myself and it’s reflecting.
So many times I get a friendly smile of unknown people which made me realize I’ve continued wearing this cloak most of the times
(sometimes I can be a grumpy old B walking with my man who has to listen to my frustrations because hey, sometimes my volcano pressure needs some air as well to unload, we’re all human after all)

Indeed, it would seem that there is no need to hide the blatant criminality of the U.S. government by the Trump Administration because we think everyone already knows this. However, I run into a lot of people that seem to think Trump is the only President to do such things. If only they could be made to see that the U.S. government is a “Club” that Lies, Steals, Deceives, and even kills for the sake of the government and the Oligarchs that control it, then it would all come crashing down, but hopefully not to be replaced by a new one world government with the same Oligarchs in control.
We need something better to replace the existing governments, and we need to be able to show that it works while not complying with the criminal governments.

Pretty sure more then 50% of the population CONSUMES more then they pay in taxes, at leat in the US. I would suspect the % is much higher in W. Europe
A good % of the trigger pulling chappies in the US army are poor white guys, and they drone wars depend on college educated whites keeping industry running well enough to supply the drones and networks. There is a reason that India and China fight their border skirmishes with clubs.
To be clear, just like James pointed out, anybody who didn’t realize that we have experience American Empire for a very long time, has very little standing to make any comments or observation about current affairs. That said, the fact that American Empire just became an uncontestable reality is quite significant.
However I would like to share my observation specifically in regards to Greenland affair. In my view, as much as it is a part of Empire consolidation (next is Canada just look at the map) it will trigger many unexpected and expected consequences. The partition of Ukraine, the reunification of Taiwan with China are quiet obvious and …expected, but should we consider West Bank annexation, removal of Palestinian population to Somaliland (?) or any other land that would take them, as an unexpected consequences?
I would wager that Trump’s crazy Greenland Affair is part of large plan that would allow many players an opportunity, a free hand one my say, to expedite their own plans and ambitions. And I can say with some certainty that as soon as US troops land in Greenland a days, a week later Israeli troops will enter the West Bank and any idea of Palestinian state will die.
Greenland is actually a pretty good square in the map….minerals and a good base to launch ships, planes and missiles from as well.
