#269 – Breaking the Limits of Human Performance with Enhanced CEO Max Martin

I can honestly say I had never heard on the ‘enhanced games’ although perhaps that’s not surprising given that I’ve never owned a television nor do I follow online social media.
Having been introduced to the topic by James here, my gut reaction was ‘live and let live’. People should be free to do what they like to themselves from taking performance enhancing drugs right up to uploading their consciousness to a super computer in the quest to achieve immortal life.
As with the trend in “looks maxing”, some people just have to learn the hard way.
I’ll stick with healthy food, a physically active life, and acceptance of temporal limits.
How donI submit a question to Corbett?
You can just ask a question here on the forums, and he’ll see it. There’s also the contact method above.
You know the bell curve? It seems to me that men’s sports is on the top, women’s sports is on one slope, and robot sports and these enhanced games are on the other slope.
One thing I gotta say about Clavicular in favor of what he does is he exposes a lot of the superficiality of society by going headfirst into it. He’s really a demonstration of a very simple principle: when someone goes three-quarters half retarded, you go full retard to show them the end of the path they’re on.
The Unabomber said that people in primitive society tend to actually live normal fulfilling lives, and when moderns fixated on staying young has more to do with the fact that they DONT live normal fullfilling lives and this can’t bear that they missed out.
People I listen to keep saying claviculars name but I honestly didn’t care enough to go look him up.
Tbh if people are vain enough to looksmax or dope themselves into an early grave they have enough mental health issues that they can select themselves out of the gene pool and donus all a favor. The over dedicated gym rats I’ve met normally has as many mental health and disphoria /dismorphia issues as the blue haired tattoo freak, or a Trannys for that matter.
My father always looked like a dying scarecrow and dressed worse then some homeless guys I’ve seen , but was strong as hell and carrying loads up and down ladders into his 70s.
One thing I tell people is that all the names people are so hard up on so everyone knows their political pronouns have no real value. There are two types of people: those that want freedom from others and those that wants freedom over others.
People desiring freedom over others is why society exists the way it does. All of these things we do are all a convolution with regard to the few things that are truly important in society: food, shelter, and maybe someone you can spend many years having some nookie with.
Vienticus Prime, hmm
I’d never thought of the humans as one of two kinds, but you are on to something with ” freedom.
few things that are truly important in society: food, shelter, … I can see both having convolutions.
Those that want freedom from others can just want space between them and those that can’t contribute and fail in all their endeavors. Did compassion get traded for the Spartan life ? That’s One way to be free.
The other.. People desiring freedom over others … I suppose those that control access to food , water and nookie are more free than those who dump the unproductive in the trash bin. Do you suppose either one is the cause of why society exists the way it does?
Vienticus
“….There are two types of people: those that want freedom from others and those that wants freedom over others….”
That kinda makes sense, but society is the way it is because human beings act like human beings.
Since man lives in groups he is “a political animal” and always will be, unless we end up like folks in that Asimov story “ the naked sun”, living on robot worked estates by ourselves.
Because man is a political animal there will always be power, in one form or another, and power will always try to extend itself. Power will always try to remove rival power, its in its nature and the only thing that restricts power is other power. For a long while folks in the US had a lot of personal power because they were in short supply and because they were very useful.
Most people are not particularly useful anymore, and thus have no good way of bargaining with power. Consider that in slavery times the living standard of southern black slaves was actually pretty high for the times , because they were useful and it was easier to feed them properly and provide good housing. Had slavery continued mechanization would have made their lives way way worse……it’s not really a different story for the working class in the US but (as with blacks) no one really cared when they got screwed and now it’s too late to save the middle classes
I can’t help it…the Enhanced Games makes me think of Arnold Schwarzenegger who took steroids and such.
Schwarzenegger ads in comic books influenced thousands of growing boys to stand in front of the mirror and flex their muscles.
While the ads for X-ray glasses looked inviting, the comic book body-builder ads left an impression of what men were supposed to look like…and Arnold Schwarzenegger was king.

I recommend viewing only when you and your friends are working on the second case of beer.
When I was a young dude and man there was no such thing as “Social Media” influence, just fairly normal evolutionary progress or process going on until the late 70’s or early 80’s or so. Indeed there were fads but not obsessive ego trips. I was quite strong, not with bulging gym muscles but rather strength muscles from doing work, eating pretty healthy meals pre-Big Food started its attack on us with sugar, seed oils, etc.
I really can’t think of many fat friends or relatives other then the old country folks and a few kids who couldn’t keep up in gym class, climbing ropes, wrestling, playing sports for an hour, etc. The women didn’t dress like call girls but were quite attractive with their natural gifts and some light make up when dating. But then I grew up in a near rural California town on the San Joaquin River.
Of course the period piece movies with their nonsense fashion representation of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s are just cliche’ theater stuff.
Young dudes and men these days seem overly concerned about appearance like gays do. I belonged to a nation wide gym that I could use when I was on the road for years more for hygiene stuff but some light working out when I was not doing physical work.
It is very challenging to get some to understand just how incredibly different society is these days. I mean 100 MILLION of you weren’t around back then :-O Life was far more quiet and well paced.

That caught me by surprise 🙂
Lotta funny folks out here in 2d world.
Diverse kinds of enhancements, longevity and the likes may showcase the transhumanist propaganda, but one major purpose of this philosophy is to dumb down humanity.
Ancient mythology has exposed the dangers of such designs for millennia: https://youtu.be/np6n_95u-kk
And the following thought, quoted from that same video, is a notion shared by an ever growing number of people: “[Transhumanism] is a false escape, a final trick offered to a humanity that is beginning to wake up and seek liberation.”
James, the “elitist sporters” and their “genes”, the funders etc sort of has a connection to your Reportage essay “They don’t want your genes in the pool”, which I just read.
Brrr, it gave me the shivers, it read like a movie.
Boy, would it be something if this essay would become a movie!!
Sports were for kids and young men. This (Enhanced Games) became inevitable as the money making spectacle aspect incrementally overshadowed the wholesome role-model elements. I just recently stated that I avoid predictions, but I will say that this development will bring painful and unhealthy side-effects to athletes and society, at large.
PS (The decades long psyop, pushing the Xtreme ideals didn’t help. Clothing and jewelry with skulls, even on kiddie pajamas, was tied into that, along with tattoos and piercings). I wonder what Hitler and his buddies would have thought about all of this?
Hankey
“….Sports were for kids and young men…..”
They still are for kids, it’s just that most people in the West are retarded, in the sense that they think like kids. It’s pretty much the same as how we bred dogs to be retarded and stay in the malleable child like state….sports and movies are just ways for people to vicariously feel like they have agency.
We are already seeing the evil side effects IMO, as irritating as Boomers were I don’t think many were half as sick as childless adults paying to go to Disney world.

“……Walt has a pretty well-known quote that says: “You’re dead if you aim only for kids. Adults are only kids grown up, anyway.”…”
This subject takes me back to the early ’90s, when, through unusual circumstances, I met two gentlemen who were involved in the Olympic Summer Games and who spoke out forcefully against the use of performance-enhancing drugs.
Each of these gentlemen is now in his 90s.
The first, Dr. Robert O. Voy, will be 93 in three months. For many years, he was a respected general surgeon in Las Vegas, where, ironically, the first Enhanced Games were held earlier this month.
In 1983, Dr. Voy left his private practice after being named Chief Medical Officer of the United States Olympic Committee.
In 1985, Voy was also made USOC Director of Sports Medicine and Science.
In 1988, Voy was at the Seoul Olympics when the 100-meter race was won by Jamaican-born Canadian sprinter Ben Johnson. The world soon learned that Johnson’s drug test revealed he had an anabolic-androgenic steroid in his system. He was stripped of the gold medal, which was handed to second-place winner Carl Lewis (USA).
In 1989, Voy walked away from the USOC. He began writing a book.
In 1991, he published “Drugs, Sport, and Politics: The inside story about drug use in sport and its political cover-up, with a prescription for reform.” It’s based on what he witnessed during his USOC years. Find it here: https://archive.org/details/isbn_9780880114097
After hearing about Dr. Voy’s book, I phoned him and talked to him about a close friend’s suspicions (and hard evidence) that several other high-level sprinters were cheating. Dr. Voy took the information seriously and pressed my friend to find more proof. Sadly, for various reasons, that quest came to naught.
The second gentleman, whose name I prefer not to divulge, was (like Ben Johnson) born in Jamaica. In the 1960s, he moved to California to attend college and in 1969 and 1971 received degrees in kinesiology and sports psychology. He worked at every Summer Olympics from 1964 (Tokyo) through 2012 (London) either as a coach for individual sprinters or as a consultant or assistant to the track and field coaches of various countries’ sprint teams. At the Seoul Summer Games, for example, he was a consulting coach for several Jamaican, US, and Australian sprinters.
According to this coach (who is now 92), it’s always been rare for top sprinters to win based solely on natural ability. He says positive drug test results get covered up. He prides himself on being one of the few coaches who never allowed his athletes to enhance their speed with steroids. He taught them how to move every single muscle in their body correctly (which most coaches can’t do or teach).
Thus, his sprinters didn’t need any substances to consistently improve their times and win medals in their events. Two of his provably drug-free sprinters won gold or silver medals at the 1968 (Mexico City), 1972 (Munich), and 1976 (Montreal) Olympics.
I’m grateful to have known these two gentlemen of integrity.
The Enhanced Games “athletes” will never earn my respect.

What are the Enhanced Games? – Questions For Corbett
Boy! did I identify!
In the early 1980’s, I loaded half of Grand Prairie for UPS, working 5 hour shifts and soaking my jeans in sweat during the freezing winter. Actually, I worked 6 hours, but clocked in for 5 because it was impossible to meet my quota of boxes loaded. If I had joined the Union, then my quota would had changed, but I refused to join.
Then, again, as an old man past retirement in 2019, I worked loading 10,000 pounds+ daily into a truck outside in any kind of weather. Most days it was grueling non-stop.
Anyway, thanks for the article!
HRS, I can see how these points all came together in your mind:

[3] Your UPS work in the ’80s and backbreaking truck-loading work in 2019
[4] The two known-to-me “Olympians” (the real heroes) whom I wrote about in my above comment
The five men featured in these stories — Corbett, Freda, HRS (you!), Dr. Voy, and the anonymous Olympic coach — are all cut from the same cloth, aren’t they?
They haven’t cheated the system and their fellow competitors.
They haven’t compromised their ethics or integrity.
They haven’t relied upon chemical enhancers (either within the rules or outside the rules) to be stronger or smarter.
They have been strong and smart in the right way: saying “no” to the alluring temptation to seek popularity, ease, riches, fame.
They have confronted life’s challenges without complaint, without excuses, and without physical or emotional “crutches.”
They have earned the rewards — the satisfaction and peace of mind — that come from putting in a long day’s “grueling” (to use your word) work.
They have remained true to themselves and to objective Truth instead of sacrificing their soul to the seeming power called (d)evil!
These five men remind me of the verse in Matthew that reads, in part: “Well done, good and faithful servant” (25:23).
Don’t you be blushin’ now, HRS! 😉
Hello James,
I’ve noticed that this episode is not yet in the QFC RSS feed: https://www.corbettreport.com/qfcrss.xml
Could you please add it when you have time?
Thank you,
Looking forward to listen to it
Fascinating insight. I’ve learned to assume that everything is marketing and/or propaganda, going way back, thanks to James’ Media Monarchy course. As for “enhancing humans” there’s a sci-fi series on Prime called The Expanse where they’ve made it a reality.
I can’t help with them with their enhancement but I could lend them a hammer.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qM7MGEGFTYE
David, I’d never heard of Father Ted, but that sure is a funny clip. In hammering the dent in the car to “perfection,” he hammered his conscience straight to “hell,” didn’t he? 🙂
Hello CQ, I don’t watch mainstream these days but I bet they don’t make ’em like that anymore.
I don’t either, David. I second your bet.
