   Setting aside the irony of people seeing messages on their phones to get off their phones, practically they are the ones that need to hear it. Otherwise you’re just ‘preaching to the choir’, as they say.

   Wound treatments progressed from pine tar oil to various smears of insecticide notable for their highly unpleasant odor.
   In 1935, screwworms resulted in 180,000 livestock deaths in under half the counties in Texas, in spite of the manpower and constant effort invested in keeping the insects at bay. Endemic to the Southwest, screwworms spread to the Southeast when producers unknowingly transported infested livestock there in 1933…

   …In 1954, screwworm flies were mass reared in Orlando, Florida, by USDA scientists and flown to Curaçao, where 400 sterile males per square mile were released by air. Effective eradication was achieved in 10 weeks.…

   …By 1958, under the urging of Florida livestock producers, including the Florida Cattlemen’s Association, the Florida legislature appropriated funds for a full-scale screwworm eradication program. The federal government provided matching funds, and a larger insect production plant was built in Sebring, Florida. Under full production this plant produced 50 million sterile flies per week…

   …With funds from southwestern livestock producers, especially the Southwest Animal Health Research Foundation (SWAHRF), the federal government, and the State of Texas, eradication began in 1962.
   ARS labs in Kerrville and Mission, Texas, began production of sterile flies. The Southwest program covered a much larger area than the Southeast, and the Southwest was constantly at risk of reinfestation from Mexico…

     Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller is at odds with native Texan Brooke Rollins (United States Secretary of Agriculture – USDA.)

     Sid points out that sterile males will mate with sterile females.
     Sid also mentions a past proven USDA method, Swormlure Fly Attractant and Screwworm Adult Suppression System (SWASS).

     EXCERPTS
     Researchers in the Mission, Texas, laboratory developed new chemical compounds specifically attractive to screwworm flies. Used to bait traps, the “Swormlure” attractants enabled workers to more accurately measure fertile and sterile fly populations. The attractants also became a component in screwworm-specific pesticide pellets”Screwworm Adult Suppression System (SWASS)”which consisted of Swormlure-2, a feeding attractant and insecticide. SWASS was to reduce the denser tropical screwworm populations enough to make the Sterile Insect Technique effective. The re-eradication in Curaçao in 1976-1977 established SWASS’s value.

   Please don’t act like the only alternative to cow’s flesh is bugs. I haven’t eaten any animal flesh for 25 years. I’m 79 and take no meds, except cannabis. There is a wealth of delicious, healthy food available besudes bugs. Please….please!

   I homeschool my children, but, because they have friends, I often get a pretty good idea of what others their age are actually being taught (&/or how they get away with “progressing” to the next grade with flying colors – WOW, they love A.I., by the way.).  Anyway, my once-pupil had been my “foster niece” up until Fall 2020, when her mother took her back, and moved, then put her in public school. Anyway, LONG story short, my niece is in high school now and I often try to go visit and ask what she’s learning. Last year or so, she was taking a course called, “Human Geography.” (The folks joked about what that may be about – Anatomy, Reproduction, & somebody even started singing, “Your Body Is A Wonderland” as a joke.)  But I had a pretty good idea of what THAT class would entail (& it did) – migratory patterns & predictions of such, based on climate change & overpopulation predicaments.Now, I’d talked to her & even showed her documentaries & such fallacies regarding “climate change” issues before, and she seemed receptive and understanding of the illusions.
   But that was years ago – AND- she’d failed THAT government-school argument the moment she’d tried to suggest that such a “consensus” wasn’t actually agreed upon among scientists.  
   So this this time, I focused on the whole “Overpopulation” point – starting with fun references from “King Of The Hill,” to assertions by influential (and fatally flawed) figures, such as Paul Ehrlich & Al Gore (of whom she’d been taught by the school) and how incredibly wrong they’d been, Ehrlich in the 1960’s, Gore in the early 2000’s – right up until their recent reiterations – which STILL haven’t happened!  
   “The Sky Is Falling” – I even told her iterations the fairy tale of Chicken Little.

   My partner left me so he could sleep with his iPhone. That’s not a joke. He, like most people who got their hands on these things got addicted. I know and know of only a few people who don’t use or don’t have cell phones. The rest are walking and sitting around with their heads down most of the time and their posture shows it. They don’t care about it that they are co-responsible for the breakdown of interpersonal interactions, of being voluntary supporters and drivers of the ‘digital age’ and the digital prison we all are being herded into. It’s no coincidence that these things were put into humanity’s hands.
